There are some interesting matches on tonight. It will be interesting to see how we fair afterwards in the league.

So the ones that matter for us tonight are
Northampton v Barrow - I'd expect a home win and as a result we'll be 5th at the end of the night.
Harrogate v Mansfield - Mansfield would need to win by 5 clear goals to go ahead of us

I would add to that Port Vale v Forest Green/Swindon v Crawley/ Tranmere v Stevenage.
I think FGR will be too strong for Vale but Crawley could get a point at Swindon and Stevenage take all 3 at Tranmere.
To add the others in my accumulator i go for a Northampton win and a Harrogate win. lol

Wouldn’t be surprised if Barrow drew as well. Port Vale Have already beaten FGR so they could start their decline tonight which if they lose their next 2 and lose to us Saturday week and we keep winnng we’d only be 2 points behind them. Just seen a pig fly over my house and a unicorn walk down the road😂

In all honesty, I'm not even considering FGR now. In the only division in English Football in which we've played or could potentially play where more teams get promoted than get relegated, coming 3rd is just as brilliant than coming 1st. I know we've got the mentality ingrained in us that if you don't win the league you're not certain to go up, we're above that now.
So with this in mind...
85 points has been the highest number in the last 10 seasons where a side has got automatic promotion. So 38 points in the remaining games of the season would almost certainly see us up. That's exactly 2 points per game, or 13 wins from the remaining 19 games. A tough ask, but far from impossible. In a season like we have now where lots of teams are all bunched together like they are, it may well end up being less. We just need to keep going. We will almost certainly be in a play off spot with 75 points (28 points more than we have now, and that means 9/10 wins in our last 19).
So far this season we've been on 1.74 points per match. 2 points per match for automatic promotion, around 1.47 points per match to make the play offs.
Whilst it's nice to be where we are in the league right now, it's where we are at the end of May 7th that counts.

The predicted final table on Football Web Pages is normally good for a chuckle. At present, it has us pipping Northampton for second spot with 81 points, and FGR winning the title 31 points clear!! They’re good, but they’re not that good.

I'm glad someone has broken cover on a 'where will we finish' opinion. It's only recently sunk in that we are probably more likey to finish within the playoff spots than outside them. Based on how we've played thus far.
Or perhaps I should say I've only just allowed that to sink in? It still seems a little fantastical. And yet...

FGR are a goal down to Port Vale currently. Early days though.

Just two goals in eight games in the first half…

A few more going in now. Barrow currently beating Northampton is a nice surprise.

Good news overall, all our direct competitors besides Tranmere did not win. Mostly happy about Mansfield run being finally stopped.

I'm pleased to say that apart from Tranmere all went our way.

I've been concerned about our goal difference (+10), but now only FGR (+34), Newport (11), & Exeter (11), have better.
