One on here thinks Kylian is the answer but he is a very young and inexperienced player. He certainly has come on leaps and bounds but at the moment for every second half at Northampton you will probably get a less profitable performance. I thought he did ok today but some seem to expect him to turn it on all the time. It ain't happening....yet. I think Kylian is the best option we have at the moment, he is young and raw yes, but we do create when he is on the pitch.

On another day we could have been 5 or 6 goals up at half time. Don't think anyone played badly but there was a lack of composure in front of goal. We need to be more clinical and also attack the many crosses we put in the opposition box. The worst thing about today and i'm surprised no one has mentioned this is the loss of prize money for not going through. Where were Thomas & Neufville today? I think we are all waiting for the day we are two goals up at any point of a game. We just cannot score and tend to over elaborate rather than shoot. I was told Thomas has broken his wrist and Neufville’s loan agreement does not include FA cup appearances.

Sods Law of football consequences kicked in at the death. U's brought off their hobbling tallest defender and replaced him with the shortest player on the books. And you also probably know how disingenuous this comment is. Please refrain from quoting half a paragraph to make your misleading comments. Otherwise add Discontiguous to the epithets in your Byline which others have bestowed upon you.

I've just done a tally of goals scored after the 80th minute in our games so far this season. There have been ten. Nine of those have been scored by our opponents, the exception being Tope's winner against Mansfield. Not exactly a random distribution.

Morning Andy. Thanks for your comments. No I will not take your bet. Regarding the training centre. OK I see your point but I feel that no tactics ( new ) are being made.

Staying in L2 is the priority and with the squad as it is at the moment, the next few weeks will be very difficult. The fans need to hang in there; this is no time for smart arses who think they have the answers to our current predicament. They haven't. We need some players back, it is simple as that. Thank you. Astonishes me what we read on here really. Full of negativity and fantasy world stuff. Think I’ll have some time off for a while 😂. We have players and management that have gone well beyond expectations. A slight fall from those dizzying heights and standards and the boot goes in on players, tactics etc. Let’s just support them and let them get on with it. Yes be disappointed to lose but perspective please. We will never lack for effort with this bunch. Laughable that people think we have spare wads of cash to throw at new players or that we can suddenly fizz it around as some sort of ‘plan B’ or that we can replace probably the key component in our whole system of play with a young man making his way in the game. Close the training ground??? Even if we did find some cash for a bit of new blood it’s no guarantee of anything better at this level. Matt knows what he is doing and some. Players coming back will strengthen us and of course we need to start taking our chances, you’d think at some point that both will happen. It’s hard to believe that fantastic day at our near neighbours was just 3 weeks ago. Since then we have beaten Oxford in the pizza cup, got a creditable draw with Northampton away, a disappointing draw with Walsall (who’s results since are good and prove they are no easy nut to crack - note clean sheet away to League One opponents today) and then got done by the ref at Stockport (who also beat 11 man Swindon 4-0 at home today). I’m not panicking or looking down the table just yet! In football we know as much as anyone a side in leagues below can turn over one higher in the FA Cup, it hurts but that’s the beauty of the competition. Maybe we’ll spring a surprise of our own just next week, who knows.

Congratulations to Farnborough - and apologies for the lack of respect shown to them by some posters on this board. Perhaps the saddest thing about this result from a Sutton perspective is that it isn't really a surprise. Farnborough came into this game on better form than us - and both sides contained some players of Tier 6 quality. If anything positive is to come from this result, I hope that Matt is given some funds in January to invest in the quality of player needed to keep us in the EFL (although this has been made less likely by missing out on the income that would have come from a run in the FA Cup). If not, we could be meeting Farnborough again in a league match sooner rather than later). DAVEP - hope all’s well with you. I don’t usually respond to posts - but your insinuation that I was showing Farnborough a lack of respect is mis-guided. I have never predicted SU to draw a match let alone lose one and if you have followed my predictions for the last few seasons you will quickly realise that it’s all a bit of fun and frolics. Football is fun and it’s the least important part of my life. I shall carry on predicting and I shall carry on having fun and smiling. When you see me next ggl come and say hello and you’ll soon realise that football is fun for me. Have a merry evening - DAVEP 👋🎈⚽️ Can’t you have fun and smile without predicting ridiculous results that never happen? What’s the point?

Morning Andy. Thanks for your comments. No I will not take your bet. Regarding the training centre. OK I see your point but I feel that no tactics ( new ) are being made. Please feel free to explain to us how that makes a training facility not fit for purpose and needs to be sold? One is entitled to their opinion, but that's not an opinion. That's just nonsense.

Yes we all have our own opinions. You have yours.I have mine. We will just have to disagree. An opinion you refuse to justify. Until you attempt that, it's not an opinion, it's nonsense. Come on Ian. Explain why a training facility which was good enough for Chelsea and QPR isn't fit for purpose for us and why a school playing field was? I'm sure we'd all love the benefit of your insight.

I was bitterly disappointed yesterday. Another game where a team did not need to out play us to beat us.
While I know we have a lot of injuries and things are very difficult, it just seems sometimes our decision making on the pitch is awful.
I'm not going to come down on the team too hard because we have over achieved and we are struggling at the moment with first team players out.
It was a huge blow because we needed a bit of an FA cup run to make some cash.
I'm still of the view that we are more than capable of staying in this division, but any hope of challenging for the playoffs like last year I think are fading very fast.
As for why we always have so many injuries, it's gone beyond bad luck now. Unless we have a study that can be presented showing our new training facility having done the same to the other teams who trained there leading to their departure, then we really can't put the blame there. But something is not right.
When we say "once we get our players back will be ok" I am thinking, what about the five or six or seven who might follow them?

Fair enough, but consider a few years ago we never expected to be a Football League team and the fact that we are now is down to the use of the Manager's tactics. As a club we are having to spend a vast sum of money to raise it to the standards of the Football league as previously we sort of pottered along with no real infrastructure projects. Without this expense the Manager's budget could be increased and we could attract the type of player that we need to advance the club. At present we just have to suck up this defeat and consolidate our position in the League.

One consequence of yesterday's FA Cup results is that our league game away to Tranmere should go ahead as scheduled on Saturday 7 January. That's 3rd round day, but both ourselves and Tranmere were knocked out yesterday.
