Staying in L2 is the priority and with the squad as it is at the moment, the next few weeks will be very difficult. The fans need to hang in there; this is no time for smart arses who think they have the answers to our current predicament. They haven't. We need some players back, it is simple as that. Thank you. Astonishes me what we read on here really. Full of negativity and fantasy world stuff. Think I’ll have some time off for a while 😂. We have players and management that have gone well beyond expectations. A slight fall from those dizzying heights and standards and the boot goes in on players, tactics etc. Let’s just support them and let them get on with it. Yes be disappointed to lose but perspective please. We will never lack for effort with this bunch. Laughable that people think we have spare wads of cash to throw at new players or that we can suddenly fizz it around as some sort of ‘plan B’ or that we can replace probably the key component in our whole system of play with a young man making his way in the game. Close the training ground??? Even if we did find some cash for a bit of new blood it’s no guarantee of anything better at this level. Matt knows what he is doing and some. Players coming back will strengthen us and of course we need to start taking our chances, you’d think at some point that both will happen. It’s hard to believe that fantastic day at our near neighbours was just 3 weeks ago. Since then we have beaten Oxford in the pizza cup, got a creditable draw with Northampton away, a disappointing draw with Walsall (who’s results since are good and prove they are no easy nut to crack - note clean sheet away to League One opponents today) and then got done by the ref at Stockport (who also beat 11 man Swindon 4-0 at home today). I’m not panicking or looking down the table just yet! In football we know as much as anyone a side in leagues below can turn over one higher in the FA Cup, it hurts but that’s the beauty of the competition. Maybe we’ll spring a surprise of our own just next week, who knows. I agree with nearly all of this but would add that the lack of goal scored this season isn't perhaps too much of a surprise considering the quality of the players (Adjeboye, Bennett and Tanto) who departed during the summer. I had high hopes of Neufville and Kendall but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to have fully clicked with them.....yet anyway. Expectations about Kouakkis need to be tempered: excellent prospect though he is, he's still only 19 and learning his craft.

Whilst in the first half we were unlucky in front of goal (at least 3 goal line clearances), the thing that really struck home for me (and has been apparent for quite a lot of the season) was how bad our passing was. The number of times we gifted Farnborough possession was shocking, and add the two goals, we totally gift wrapped them a victory. That's a good point about the poor passing. The other thing that struck me was how much our energy levels dropped in the second half when we consequently started to get overrun in midfield. It would take a huge stretch of the imagination to describe Easty and Milsom as spring chickens and we could have benefitted from one or two pairs of fresh legs but it wasn't to be with the injury situation. Credit to Farnborough who were a credit to NLS and, having watched Havant knocked out Carshalton a few weeks ago, exceeded my expectations. Their number 28 (Norville-Williams) looked especially impressive.

Hi Sol, have you thought of predicting that the other team will win, then perhaps Sutton might win for once 🙂

OK. The training centre is OK for basic training but I feel a more could be done regarding tactics etc. OK.I agree I maybe wrong. But as been said we all have our own opinions. And I respect some of the comments on this forum.Yes I think there is / has been some comments that had been made which we all know is, shall we say is rubbish. But that is what a forum is for. Discussion and debate. My word. Seriously don't even bother with the "we have our own opinions" nonsense. You've made a claim about a facility you've not been to, have no idea what the set up is there and yet say "it's ok for basic training" with no qualification, and then make a comment about tactics which is utterly independent of any training facility. You may think it's an opinion. Everyone can see you're just spouting nonsense. You're adding nothing to that debate, because you know nothing of the facility.

After your last comments. I am finished with this forum. I didn't go yesterday so I'm not commenting on the match but I don't think you should leave the forum just because someone who thinks they are condescending argues with you. Just ignore him.

Away against Wrexham in Round Two. That definitely will be live as BBC are obsessed with Wrexham.

Apart from the money, maybe it was a blessing really because things are not going that well and we could do without the distraction of a cup run.

Will you still be saying this if we get a favourable away draw in the Papa Johns?

One tiny crumb of comfort is that Tranmere also went out on Saturday meaning barring weather related postponements, we won't have to go up there on a Tuesday night.

For those of you still following the FA Cup, if we'd made it to the 3rd round we would have been drawn against.......Coventry City.
(Albeit away rather than home)
