So this Boxing Day we travel the short distance to Crawley. Better news on the injury front with Donovan returning, almost a full complement of midfielders and i have sneaky suspicion that Ben may be involved in someway after listening to Matt's interview. Personally i feel that we are due to go on a bit of a winning run & hopefully starting on Monday. i will leave the score prediction to Sol !!

Don't worry if you have not got your match tickets for Monday yet, Crawley have been very generous with the space allocation and it will be possible for U's fans to buy tickets at their stadium on matchday.

Makes a change Dave after last years disgrace. Probably my least enjoyable away day experience ever. Seems like they’ve listened to the complaints. Also no/little Police outside the ground to deal with the Crawley scrotes that wanted to fight. Because of this I will not be going. If the match day experience has improved then I will consider going next year

With the bottom 4 playing each other today, at least 2 of those 4 will pick up points - so important that we pick up something at Crawley to maintain a healthy distance between ourselves and the trap door.

If the match day experience has improved then I will consider going next year I suspect, and this is only my view, that the reason they’re being so generous this year is that they cocked up last season and perhaps deliberately announced a smaller away attendance as there were too many fans in one place. There was a genuine health and safety issue and despite please to open up the other terracing they wouldn’t even though they had stewards there.it was only down to the wonderful Sutton fans behaviour that someone didn’t get hurt. Anyway enjoy today and let’s bring back the points

They were very generous last year as i remember with a whole terrace at one end and part of the stand alongside.

Where they? Shut one corner of the terrace off leaving Sutton fans to stand in the gangways that were marked in yellow thus meant for h&s reasons to be kept clear.
It wasn't comfortable and while that would not normally be an issue, when we went there last season in October 2021, Covid was still a concern.

There was a small adjacent section that was completely closed. The simple opening of which would have allowed that little bit of elbow room greatly needed during COVID times.

Couldn't see that from where i was as i was up the other end away from that near the seating area where there was reasonable space.

Ben and Aaron on the bench. Keep it tight - Suggests Ben comes on at 60 mins -then normal back 4 - Josh comes on and Harry/ Enzio subbed with Kyllian and Tope on at 70 mins.

After having seen our lineup I have a gut feeling that today is going to be a great day and maybe Sol should add a couple more goals to his prediction 😀🥳👍It is Christmas after all ☃️🎅🏽

Good result that to day. Kizzi and Eeatmond had good games with Kizzi wining every thing at the back and Eastmond controlling midfield. They only frustrating thing is their late goal, scored in injury time again, we really must cut them out. Over all a good win, now two home games, so onwards and upwards. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Sometimes in football you have to be patient. Despite most of the first 45 minutes being played in the home half, we had nothing to show for it at the interval. Such was the hosts' lack of momentum, it took them over half an hour to mount their first sustained attack.
In their last home game Crawley lost 2-0 to struggling Hartlepool, both the visitors' goals coming from corners. And so it came to pass that when we won our first corner on the hour mark, we took the lead, Joe Kizzi lashing in his first goal of the season after Omar's initial effort had been saved. Omar proved his worth again as he earned the penalty from which Rob Milsom gave us a 2-0 cushion against one of his former clubs.
We've now beaten Crawley in three out of three L2 encounters, and, but for that stoppage-time consolation, would have kept three clean sheets against them. Still, it's the three points that really matter. We're halfway through the league programme and 15th in the table with 29 points. Barring a catastrophic second half of the season, we're staying up. 🙂 We might even see Ben Goodliffe take to the field on Thursday.
