Wasn't Lee the player that handled on the line to prevent our win at Valley Parade 13 months ago? I'll forgive him, if he scores for us though Toothman says a very good point "well who saw that coming?". Hence why I ignore rumours.

I won't get too excited yet. Let's just see if he can score goals for us at this level. Only scored 14 football league goals since season 17/18 so lets see how he gets on.

Welcome back to the area, Lee! He looked a handful up at their place last season. Much more mobile than Thomas but a player with a similar physical presence. Think Matt will have signed him thinking he can play in either DW's advanced striker role or the deeper role which Omar plays, as none of our strikers can do both. Thomas wasn't mobile enough for either, and Tope is an advanced striker. Kouassi I just don't see anything to suggest he's L2 standard yet and I'd like to see him get regular starts lower down the pyramid. He was really poor when he came on against Wimbledon. His anticipation is really suspect and he's painfully slow, but a useful prospect if he can work on the former. That will only come with 30-40 game seasons and with due respect, he ain't gonna get that here.

Did you not see Kylian's man of the match performance in the second half against Northampton? He was outstanding. He wasn't poor at all against Wimbledon. I thought he did rather well. He is young and still learning but I think he's done very well and will only get better.

Provided that neither are injured, I would have thought that it would be of benefit to both Kwame and Luke to be afforded the opportunity to have some game time somewhere else. They both seem to have been somewhat in the wilderness for a while - and the recent return of some players from injury and the arrival on loan of David won't help their chances of having game time with us. Aside from anything else, Malta's first qualifier for the next Euros is in March - and I would have thought that Luke would want to be playing regularly before then (they are playing England in June). To a lesser extent, another loan might benefit Adam when he has fully recovered from concussion now that Ali and Harry have both returned from injury. Not sure that he could go back to Dartford as they are absolutely flying at the moment (winning their last four matches, three of which were away and three of which were against their two main promotion challengers - Havant and Ebbsfleet - and scoring 14 goals in the process). However, if Adam was to be allowed to go out on loan again, it would need to be with a recall option in case injuries/suspensions impact us further down the line. If Matt does bring in another striker during the transfer window, might be worth considering allowing Tope to go out on loan as well. Or Adam could just stay & challenge for a first team spot. He has proved he is good enough at this level. Adam did not do himself any harm when he came in and it's unfortunate for him that he had to cover during a time when the team was missing key players and playing players out of position, otherwise, it may have helped him do even better. But I think his style appears to be more defensive and ball-winning. While he certainly did not really put a foot wrong, we have seen how our midfield needs to chip in with goals, perhaps this is the only thing that goes against him with the other three central midfielders posing more of a threat in that area. He can fill the hole that Davis filled so perhaps there is a place for him as a squad player.

Have to agree with you, Perhaps he has been fast-tracked a bit this year due to Matt not having confidence in some of his other recruits but he has certainly shown signs of being a good player. That said, perhaps it would have been better for him to get a few loan games under his belt and some regular football, even if just for a few months, likewise with Tope. Both have 0 National League experience let alone league 2. It has certainly thrown them in at the deep end.

IF everything goes to plan I suspect that Adam Tobi Tope Sam Matt Kyllian Ben H, Roman Coby could be the bulk of our squad 2014/15 with other players we haven't heard of yet , as most squads evolve and 3 or 4 years down the line have virtually changed in their entirety. We have to be a selling club and some stalwarts will retire Rob for one and likely Easty. Ali Joe Ben Louis and Will may have been poached and of course we've already lost David long term and Issac.

He is young and still learning but I think he's done very well and will only get better. You must have been watching a different 20 minutes against Wimbledon to me. He continuously failed to anticipate headers and passes and generally looked 2 or 3 levels below everyone else on the pitch. All the fans I watched the game with had the same opinion. One good game doesn't mean much, remember Ricky K last season? Look, I don't want to hammer a young prospect and I agree he may develop into a useful player, but his lack of pace and general anticipation have stood out most times he's come on. He needs a season or two of 30-40 games if he's going to improve the latter. Without pace, a player needs to read the game superbly and he just doesnt. He's a similar level to sho silva, with a better eye for goal and work rate, but worse in other areas so similar overall ability. If he improved his anticipation and off the ball significantly, he could be a useful target man at this level, but like I say he needs multiple seasons of playing week in week out to achieve those things. Isn't there a rule about one player trained at the club must be in the squad? If so, I understand he's the best home grown option we have, but I maintain he needs a loan move to develop.

I don't think anyone could argue that playing full or most of a game regularly in the National League would be better for both Kyllian and Tope in terms of their development than making cameo appearances in League Two this season.
