Was always going to be up against it today, some silly comments from people obviously feeling gutted, I feel your pain.
I thought we played well first half and did not have any luck with the ref.
However it's a results business and we just got hammered again despite, again, good individual performances.
We have seen an improvement in performance but not really in result, next two games are Massive in my eyes now.

Doswell and Collins for a new manager bounce looking less like a knee jerk reaction and more like practical club management every passing week. And this is probably the most delueded comment I've read. Doswell never wanted to go into the football league and Collins effectively sacked from Havant - maybe have a lay down it'll pass and you'll feel better. Well the suggestion assumes there's a vacancy and that our wage budget is miniscule even when compared to Crawley. I don't think they're going to be queuing round the corner for the job. Jamie Collins could easily be the only man who'd take on this poisoned chalice, even though he didn't succeed at Havant.

A performance that reverts back to our previous league away matches, slow starts and get cut to ribbons when chasing the game in the latter stages. 12 goals conceded in our last 3 away games is horrific by any stretch of imagination and shows beyond doubt that the defence or system used is not good enough for this level.
In contrast the setup during the week v Port Vale was much better, it didn't include Goodliffe who I think has been a shadow of his pre-injury self. Matt has limited options at the back which he and the forgotten about DOF have to take responsibility for.
I think Matt and the DOF should be given October to put some scores on the doors, if they fail to do so we have to look elsewhere. I don't buy this punching above our weight, so its alright if we get relegated, that is just a cop out.
I fully believe the right combination exists and that Matt and Co can find it in October and the players can deliver. Ultimately we are now a professional club living in a professional environment with a lot of money involved, and the club has to do the right thing if required.

Er, I think you will find Ben Goodliffe played at centre back against Port Vale.
But then I have gave up expecting anything but bollocks from you some time ago.
Still thinking Rob Milsom is not a left back for starters.

Still thinking Rob Milsom is not a left back for starters. Yes Goodliffe did play v Port Vale, but my comment still stands, he is far from his best. And I see you are still a very rude man so nothing changes.

If you are going to make factually incorrect statements I will point them out.
And if you can't take a word such as bollocks then I suggest you check what you post in the first place.

Why do some people think the manager slagging off the players in an interview would be considered helpful?
I am sure that home truths are made in the sanctuary of the dressing room.
I remember Ernie Howe having a go at individual players in the local press during his brief spell as manager during 2007/8. It didn't work.

We are going through a sticky patch at the moment but is it too much to ask that we continue to give full support to the team and Matt. Far too much negativity on here!

There’s not a lot he can say. Just don’t listen if you don’t like them. End of the day only results will make people feel better. He probably said similar every week when we were romping to the National League title - really pleased, we’ll now just concentrate on the next game etc. Doubt anyone cared then.
He absolutely has to keep the players on side. There is nothing we can do to change them outside of the window. Criticising them openly will make the situation worse.

And the point in that is?? Who takes over then?? Doswell and Collins for a new manager bounce looking less like a knee jerk reaction and more like practical club management every passing week. Or possibly the most idiotic statement in this thread. Yes, that will be the one.

Where to start with this one? Unfortunately, when a team is struggling at the wrong end of the table, luck has a habit of going against it, and we certainly found that today.
Behind to an early (and well struck) goal, we rallied, and were the better side for the next 45 minutes, but once again had nothing to show for a period of superiority. We had two goals disallowed (I think correctly) for offside, but also three shouts for a penalty turned down. Two of those were debatable, but the middle one (Sowunmi hauled down in the box) looked nailed-on. Then, to add insult to injury, the ref awarded a free kick to them when Kizzi appeared to have been the recipient rather than executor of a foul. Rose made a good save, but the ball was recycled and they scored a somewhat freakish second.
It's hard to resist the thought that the home club had left a brown envelope stuffed with used notes (or maybe the NFT equivalent) in Mr Howard's changing room.
That second goal rather knocked the stuffing out of us, and it was no great surprise when they scored the third. Our demoralised and by now shambolic defence was spared further humiliation by a combination of wasteful shooting and another fine save from Rose.
Matt has said that the table doesn't mean much until ten games have been played. We've now played ten, and are bottom. The next two games, both at home, are massive.

OK , I have already apologised once for the misspelling but just for YOU I will do so again …….SORRY . Sometimes one’s finger slips or a misspelling is made in the heat of the moment . I’m sure most of us have misspelt a word or a name in the past , all of course except YOU because YOU are just perfect ( at least in your own mind ). So a question for YOU . When do YOU think the club should make a difficult decision ? I’m guessing when we are ten points from safety with only three games to go .

Getting Dos and Collins in? That statement about proves that getting shot of Matt and team at the moment would just be a crapshoot. Reaction for reactions sake.
We have played a heap of teams from the top end of the table, had some rotten luck in parts with the likes of sendings off, skipper injured, OGs and today's utterly farcical officiating. There is glimmers of petformances and hope this can be set right.
That said, our overall performances HAVE been poor and our defence, a lot of time, terrifyingly bad.
Next games are against teams we now, absolutely must beat.
Salford, Walsall and Doncaster. Teams around us in league, all struggling, 2H 1A We need to see an absolute minimum of 7 points. If we don't, well....the "Matt must go crowd" should surely see their wish come true because that would genuinely mean we are on a relegation trajectory.
