Doswell and Collins for a new manager bounce looking less like a knee jerk reaction and more like practical club management every passing week. Or possibly the most idiotic statement in this thread. Yes, that will be the one. This was already said. Ever had an original thought in your life?

Er, I think you will find Ben Goodliffe played at centre back against Port Vale. But then I have gave up expecting anything but bollocks from you some time ago. Still thinking Rob Milsom is not a left back for starters. But the league cup is not league two points and teams rest players and do not put the same tactical research as they do the league. So we should not compare the two, the league games are far more important than the league cup. Not to mention the fact that we lost that game and conceded two goals.

Er (again). I haven't made any comparison.
The poster I was replying to did that.
All I posted was an observation about that post being factually incorrect.
Jesus.

I might add that Crawley's third goal was offside, which seems to be the case with us at the moment. We have had too many valid goals dis allowed while opposition seem to to get the rub of the green. I really wish the refs would get their act together. I know we have issues by they really do not help. We had a cast iron penalty turned down as well and the highlights seem to never show these types of things.

We are all concerned (although some seem to be in denial) about the current run of poor league form that extends into last season. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I was just pointing out that our succuss in the cups are not valid when we are addressing our league status, as clubs obsess in the league and getting tactics right while the cup is a bonus punt.

You can't spell his name but you're certain you want him sacked. OK , I have already apologised once for the misspelling but just for YOU I will do so again …….SORRY . Sometimes one’s finger slips or a misspelling is made in the heat of the moment . I’m sure most of us have misspelt a word or a name in the past , all of course except YOU because YOU are just perfect ( at least in your own mind ). So a question for YOU . When do YOU think the club should make a difficult decision ? I’m guessing when we are ten points from safety with only three games to go . Not in October. If Matt had lost the dressing room you may have a point. Do you have any indication that we have? No.

But if you feel a management team completely untested at a league level who both went onto worse things, unravelling their reputations is the solution to our problem, then it is idiotic.

Here are a few observations on the manager's position.
1. Sutton Utd is not a club that sacks managers. If Matt leaves the post this season he'll either resign or, more likely, depart by 'mutual consent' (which, as I understand it, means part of his remaining contract is paid up).
2. More importantly, we're pretty much past the point of no return this season. If we were going to change managers to improve our chances of staying up, that needed to be done at some point before the Accrington match. It's hard to see how a new manager arriving two months into the season, and put in charge of a group of players he's not recruited, could make enough difference to pull the club away from the relegation zone.
3. Someone asked me in a pub yesterday evening if Matt had lost the dressing room. I've seen absolutely no evidence of that (and I was privileged to be in the dressing room before the MK Dons match). This for me is reason enough to stick with the current regime. And anyone who thinks the players don't care about the situation should watch Harry Beautyman's post-match interview.

Depends on the situation. An uncreative, simple man such as yourself is so clearly incapable of understanding even the very concept of nuance. The situation in which the managerial seat is a vacant one is a hypothetical situation not one steeped in reality. This was the dilemma which had been posited here, the responses have assumed otherwise.

Why is it that anybody on this forum that dares to suggest anything that is in odds with a couple of the more outspoken people on it are met with sarcasm and in some cases just plain rudeness ? We are ALL supporters and lovers of our club and just want the best for it and the team , be they playing or management ( including Mat Clay ) ……. Oh no I’ve misspelt his name again 😱😱😱😱😱.
Sometimes , when things are not going well changes need to be considered .

If someone makes a factually incorrect statement to prove a point it needs to be corrected.
If using the word bollocks to describe that error and indeed others made is considered rudeness by some then tough.
I didn't realise ap was heading down the woke route.
I only post on here what I would say to someone's face but with regards to that poster I don't think that's possible anymore. I can't remember the last time I saw him physically attend a match.

Changing the manager at this early stage of the season would most likely achieve nothing ,be disrespectful to a manager who has brought this club into the Football League for the first time in its history. Also managed a team that took us to Wembley and on the brink of the playoffs. This is not the Premiership where millions of pounds are at stake for being relegated. This is league 2 where i want us to stay up as much as you. The management team are obviously working very hard on the training ground to put this right so be patient and i'm sure our position will improve.

Also remember that Dos isn’t qualified to manage in the EFL, much like Marc White at Dorking. I think a lot of the postings on here are from people that are completely ignorant of the facts. I know quite a few people that just won’t post on here anymore because of the absolute bollocks that is posted. It’s a shame as these people know a fair bit about the game and have been supporters of this great club for years
