The start of a big week I feel where we really need to pick up a couple of positive results from the home double-header. Salford surprisingly seem to be really struggling this season and were on a dreadful run before they won on Saturday (against Newport) - they seem to have numerous injuries with McAleny missing at the weekend (he scored a brace against us in the spring) and Vassell who was an annoyance in the home game last season!
As for us, I’m hoping Smith might be back plus Louis John (his partnership with Sowunmi v MK Dons looked pretty solid).
Let’s get these points!

FWIW, I think each home performance (though I missed the Villa match), has been progressively worse up to the MK Dons game when there was a noticeable performance. Hopefully, that wasn't a blip and we can build on it.

The next two games are massive, for me must win, so the players must show the desire to get the result. From what Harry said in his interview the players must start getting results now, no excuses just do it because time stops for know one, so I would go four five one too protect that very leaky defence. So let’s hope what Harry has said gets through to the lads and they show the bottle and get the wins we badly badly need. ⚽️⚽️

I didn't go to the Port Vale or Crawley games so I can't confirm this. On the face of it at Port Vale we played with just one up front which seemed to work quite well.
Maybe we should try this for a while while we are struggling. Incidentally that seemed to be the same formation Matt started playing when he began here.

Regretfully for the first time in many years I will have to miss tonight’s game as the misses has COVID and is not too good, I did say that I would look after her and said that I would take her in a wheelchair but she called me something rude so that’s that 🤷🏼♂️. What I do hope is that Sutton will tonight cross the line and start the winning turnaround which I believe is overdue and they are perfectly capable of doing so, and not just because I’m not going. As H said in his interview the squad are although despondent re latest results are still professional enough to keep their heads up and get over this temporary situation. Sutton United doesn’t give up 👍.

A massive game tonight for us in terms of how we perform.
I was on holiday when we played MK Dons, but by all accounts it was a decent performance.
However it’s vital that we start getting home wins against teams in the bottom half of the table. Our display against Forest Green Rovers was frankly embarrassing, and even though they are now 22nd in the table, on the day they looked the vastly superior side especially after they had taken the lead.
We need to keep it tight at the back and be patient.

Simple task tonight. We need to tick off these, and I've put them in priority order.
A) keep a clean sheet B) score goals C) stay injury free D) avoid red cards
I'd be happy at this point with A.

Thank you for that suttonpodcast. I did try to answer under quote but no luck but I have already put Sutton down for a 3-1 win so here’s hoping 🙏🤞👍 And trust that everyone will enjoy the game, we will turn around tonight.

Hope Beckham isn't - it was his bo at the lane that started the downward spiral.

Twenty minutes in and I’m struggling to think how SU are going to even get in the Salford penalty area. Kasimu is totally isolated up front.
Update: half time 0-0. An achievement of sorts but so far there is only one side looking like they might have the slightest chance of scoring, and it isn’t Sutton.
65 minutes. 2-0 to Salford. Sutton have had a couple of corners to be fair.
83 minutes. This team is making Scunthorpe United from two seasons ago look like Man City.
