the next 3 league matches will be very informative.
I think you can write off the Wrexham game but the 2 home matches are winnable and should we win both of those then we may find ourselves outside of the relegation area.
as someone who just goes to home matches I dont see a great deal wrong - 2 great victories already this season and I feel excuses can be made for the Gillingham and Wimbledon defeats (2 very in form strong sides which was very difficult for us to play inside 1 week) yes the sway form seems to be disastrous, but surely it can turn around if the continued confidence can be found in the home matches ? this is certainly not the time for any panic.

I find the tiny threads of optimism left in me clinging to your every word There have indeed been times when we have looked competitive. What worries me is the issue seems to be in our tactical ability and focus. And that the team may start to lose trust in Matt's ideas which may have already started to happen. The win against Walsall did help, but it will not take long for the negative to set in after a few more defeats. Securing our home form could indeed be a good building block. But no matter how much I try, I just don't see it. I have to keep telling myself, remember its a new team and only 13 games of poor form (ignoring last season) And I am clinging to that!

I wasn't there so I can't say he performed but I really don't think goal was a problem so I don't know why we got Deano back.

Deano is starting purely because he is a far better distributor of the ball than Rose. Rose's long kicks kept landing closest to Kashket which cannot have been intentional. On his day, Deano's distribution is premier league standard and he can consistently put it on Smith's head or whereever he needs to. Rose's distribution is at best average, although I think he's a better shot stopper and slightly better at commanding his area.

I read two posts where the writer says 'this is not the time to panic'. That is correct - it is far past that point.
We did panic when we needed to, at the end of the last season, by changing the majority of the team. Unfortunately that change did not improve results, particularly away. In part I think that is because some of the retained players are below par. Harry's passing is too often intercepted, Craig is becoming injury prone as years of midfield battling take their toll. The mid-field seems to me to be the main area of weakness but there is also Sam Hart. A very diplomatic coach once said to a parent about his son who was a full-back better at attacking than defending "He's a threat to whichever goal he is nearer to." I feel the same about Sam as Doncaster crossed from their right seemingly without hindrance, Sam looks better going forward with the ball.
I listen to Matt's post-match thoughts every week. He must be glad that Tony Dolbear is so deferential with his line of questioning and prompting of excuses. Another interviewer might have tried "WTF is this week's excuse?" by now. And this week's excuse seems to be the run of two matches per week has prevented Matt getting over his important tactics on the training ground. We have had a blank midweek so proof of the pudding on Saturday or a fresh excuse needed.

Tony has always been quite forgiving with his questions, I don't think its got anything to do with him being an employee as you put it, its just his style. You have to remember that SUFCTV along with Tony cut its teeth interviewing Dos which was a wholly different experience.

For the record, Tony is not an employee, he is a volunteer.

Isn't being a better shot stopper and better at commanding the area a lot more important than distributing the ball? That's really a question for the man picking the team. If Rose is constantly allowing the opposition to retain possession with inaccurate kicks then his other attributes are almost irrelevant. However, the proof is there to see that bringing deano in hasn't improved the team and I think rose had done little else wrong and is probably pretty aggrieved which is unlikely to have helped team morale. Matt was clearly looking for the first chance to drop rose and did exactly that. Who knows whether we would still be in the same position if he'd shown some loyalty with his keeper.

It should be pointed out that Jack hasn't featured in our last three squads because he is injured.

I seem to remember Tony did ask Matt a more pressing question about why things are going so badly wrong at an interview in the last few weeks and Matt replied along the lines of there being several issues but it wasn't appropriate to discuss openly - that's perfectly Matt's prerogative of course.

Jesus just watched the highlights Did he have anything insightful to say about them?

Jesus just watched the highlights Did he have anything insightful to say about them? He crucified us for one of the crosses. (Note that I haven’t got a clue about the bible and nor do I care so apologies for inaccurate references)
