Starting up the match thread for this one early given its significance!
Must be our biggest league game for a good while given the predicament we find ourselves in - there’s the incentive of a win moving us off the bottom and possibly out of the drop zone if other results go our way.
We come into this weekends encounter off the back of our first away point in the league at Colchester and with a blank midweek (thanks to the Charlton game handily delayed a week) we should go into the Tranmere game in good spirits. Hopefully Milsom’s fit to claim the left-back berth and Goodliffe returns from suspension.
I’m quite surprised at Tranmere’s struggles this season (not sure what they were tipped to do at the start of the season) - prior to their win over FGR last weekend their form had been wretched! That match saw key player Luke Norris go off injured which could be handy for us!
Should be a big crowd given international weekend and ours being the only EFL game in the capital!

I understand a goodly group of ex, retired players are attending the match should interest the older autograph collector.

Biggest league game since a certain hartlepool game in 2021? Lose and its hard to see us going into Xmas anywhere but bottom. Win and we could be out of the relegation zone.
Feels like maybe that last gasp equaliser is a bookend for our miserable run since Walsall away, so I'm trying to stay positive.
Team who scores first probably wins.

Yes its hard to see past this match as anything more than pivotable, we are at home against fellow strugglers. From a postion / points basis, to proving we are good enough to stay in this league, they don't come any bigger.

Huge game. Certainly do not want to lose. A draw wouldn't be too bad but we need 3 points for confidence going forward and to get off the bottom of the table. Let's hope Matt plays a positive formation and not Harry on the left wing!

I think we have to win this one.
I understand that Tranmere's forward Luke Norris, who caused us some grief when at Stevenage, is injured. Their main threat may come from right-winger Rob Apter.

Huge if we can win and get off the bottom. Would be a massive boost and give some evidence that trending in the right direction.

Tranmere are now the only side in the division who have failed to pick up any points on the road this season.
If we can't get something out of this game, then we could argue that we don't deserve to stay up. Which is why I'm certain we will get something out of it.

Let's be clear. We need the points from this one. Not 'a good showing', not 'improvement', and if it doesn't happen then spare me 'the Ref was against us'. We need 3 points, regardless
I think, on balance, we ought to be good for it. Although it's a lot of pressure on one match. But if we don't get a win, expect calls for a change to start reappearing. With some justice.

We should be due a few players back fit leading up to December, so a win on Saturday would put us in good shape. I think if we show the same level of commitment we have been of late, we have a good chance of taking three points. The question is, who sits on the bench? Clay, Gape or N'Guessan?

Let's hope Matt plays a positive formation and not Harry on the left wing! I think our positive results have started coming since Harry has been on the left wing so have no issues with Matt keeping him there for this one.

Blessed is the person who having nothing to say abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact.

I think our positive results have started coming since Harry has been on the left wing so have no issues with Matt keeping him there for this one. It ain't the individual, nor the army as a whole. But the everlasting teamwork of every bloomin' soul.

I have watched the highlights of the Women's match at ggl v Maidenhead. From the condition of the pitch in places in that video and the forecast for tomorrow of a long period of rain, it would not surprise me if this match is subject to inspection.
