Let's hope Matt plays a positive formation and not Harry on the left wing! I think our positive results have started coming since Harry has been on the left wing so have no issues with Matt keeping him there for this one. I agree. We can't afford to go gung-ho and get caught on the break.

Let's be clear. We need the points from this one. Not 'a good showing', not 'improvement', and if it doesn't happen then spare me 'the Ref was against us'. We need 3 points, regardless I think, on balance, we ought to be good for it. Although it's a lot of pressure on one match. But if we don't get a win, expect calls for a change to start reappearing. With some justice. Not from me . I have now fully accepted that there will be no change of manager regardless of whether we are relegated or not ….. and I am actually happy now with that .

Well, fair do's, if that's your view. I'd very much rather not change manager. But if, as the season progresses, we are still in the plunge spot then I'm not sure I'm going to share that fatalism. Anyway, let's see how things pan out tomorrow. I'll be cheering on the boys. We all will.

My view is that we are probably not in a position that can change a manager and his staff, mid season, and for it not to have a financial hit in the club, and this hit could be even more of an issue should we still go down.
I think as long as the players are fighting for the manager then he should stay. Not that I like a culture of player power where they can dictate, but it is important for us that all the players are putting everything into it. Should the players lose belief in what Matt does then we have a disaster on our hands and Matt would need to go and a contingency plan put in place.
As things stand we are seeing slow and steady improvement. I would even say that Matt has shown he can deal with players under high pressure, as I am sure there have been one or two players being unhappy throughout, which he seems to have control of showing decent man management.
I wont complain if we are in a relegation scrap, as we are a small club, but as long as its a scrap and not a whimper.

To clarify my position on Matt …… I have previously called for his head because of the manner of some of our defeats and what I considered poor tactics . That said I am not a football manager and never have been , nor want to be ! I have been turned around from this mindset because performances have improved and real fighting spirit is now being shown on the pitch which is all a supporter can ask for . We all expect to lose a fair few matches but for most of us it is the manner in which we lose that counts .

No problem with a relegation scrap. We were always likely to end up in one of those, sooner or later, in this division. I only have a problem if we are serously cut adrift at the bottom.
One problem that we do have is that, thus far, there are very few other identifibly weak teams in the league. Except perhaps Forest Green and Tranmere. Which takes us back to the need to win today.
Things have improved. Let's see, today, if it's enough. I hope and trust that it is.

Talking about player power do you think any of them are stupid enough to stand up to Matt?

Talking about player power do you think any of them are stupid enough to stand up to Matt? Any talk of player power at this club is absolutely ludicrous. We’re League Two, not a bunch of Premier League prima donnas. Players at our level need a regular and reliable income to pay for the mortgage, etc. They’re not going to be kicking up a stink in the dressing room to try and get the manager sacked.

That was one poor performance I’m afraid, lacking in any ideas and our midfield really is lacking any creativity witch has been a problem all season. The only good thing to come out of this game was that we did not lose against a very poor Tranmere side with a very late goal. This is proving to be one long hard season for this team and you could hear the frustration’s from the fans. Matt must have a few wards he cannot be happy with that, I’m certainly am not. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

That really was dire. That second half was turgid.
I can't see it as a great moment equalising. The fact is, we missed an open goal, two free headers from a few yards away, passed back more than forward and the goal we conceded was an own goal.
Can't celebrate that.
Fact is, playing like that, which we are doing most games, we are 100% getting relegated. Since we can't beat either forest Green or Tranmere at home, then we don't deserve to stay up either.
Pretty disheartened to be honest.

That was the first game I have seen since my illness ( port Vale).I have read that the team had improved. Iam sorry to say ,that was just as bad as anything prior. It's the same old, same old.Huff ball.sometimes to no one in particular.any passing seemed to go backwards, then huff ball forward. Only two, stood out today and that was Aiden and Harry H.Joe Kizzi is not a left back and has he lost some form? Again little or no midfield. What has Matt got with making late substitutions? A comment on the referee. Does he watch to much WWF. The amount of wrestling that when on today was terrible.H Smith was continually wrestled off the ball throughout the game.i quite understand how Harry felt when he got his yellow.

That was awful. Especially in the 2nd half where we went through a 20 min odd spell where we couldn't string a pass together. Deano's kicking went all to pot and the rest of the side were at times just passing straight to Tranmere players. Whilst last week I thought we deserved to draw, this week For 85+ minutes we deserved to be behind, even if we decided to score on their behalf. We did wake up in the last 5+ and if you want to go on a positive we did finally show some fight. But in all honesty it was a turgid performance, and as Matt keeps going on about having free weeks to really work hard in training, I don't know what he did this week, but it did appear at times that he might as well have not bothered and popped down to Westfield to do early Xmas shopping.
Before today, our only bad performance for weeks was Doncaster, but I think today was up there with it. And we still came away with a point. I'm more than happy to say this could be the exception to the rule, but in all honesty none of our players had their best games for us today.
We can be better. We have been better. We need to be better.

I'm probably in a minority of one but I don't think today was as bad as others are making out. The main problem was that we lacked sufficient penetration to fashion clear-cut chances. Did their 'keeper have a save to make?
Nevertheless, the standard of football was still higher than the "hit and hope" of a few weeks ago and we're no longer being consistently carved open, the visitors needing to rely on an own goal. No lack of fighting spirit either with a late equaliser.
Clearly, it's still not good enough though (I was very disappointed in Gape incidentally) and we need to improve but four unbeaten on the trot suggests perhaps foundations are being laid.
