With all the 6 pointer talk, I knew if we didn't win, people would say all this negative stuff. We are in a bad position no doubt, and I have been one to not hesitate with criticism, but lets not pretend that over the last 5 or 6 games we have not seen improvement. It is unrealistic to think we can outplay an oppotion every week, even when we desperately need to. As for who we play, there is little in this league and the margins are fine. I personally felt Bradford were better than Wrexham or at least just as good. While currently Tranmere are close to us now this might not be the case in 10 games time. We can only focus on our own performances and with a few good players out or unfit we are 4 games unbeaten which is progress. Yesterday was a crap game and to be be fair Tranmere were solid and defended very well, as their new manager also saw them play very well in their last couple games. The main grumble I have is we are now without Smith again for our next game. Thanks to another crap reff. True, there is a lot of negative stuff. But sometimes negative stuff is also accurate stuff. I think you're correct that the quality margins between many of the teams in this league are narrow. Having said that, how many of us think we'll acrue any points at all from our upcoming games against Crewe, Stockport, Mansfield and Gills? Based on how we're currently playing and allowing that some improvements (sic) have been made. The fear is that the end of this year will see us seriously adrift at the bottom. Without wishing ill on other clubs we're getting rather dependant on two or three of them to hit some serious bad form.

Poor performance from a poorly coached team against another poor team. Matt’s inability to recognise the need to change things up earlier shows a naivety at this level - what’s the point of bringing on subs so late in the game. A frustration I heard shared by one of the subs as he was warming up speaking to a friend in the crowd. We are not adrift yet but had we not snatched a messy late equaliser and FGR given up a 2 goal lead then we would be. I still believe that we do have the players in this squad to compete so I have to lay the blame at the feet of the coaching staff. Matt’s been great, we have some wonderful memories but it’s time…. First substitution was on 65 mins. I thought Matt got it spot on yesterday with the use of subs. Could have won it in the end

Incidentally I see that Flashscores (not for the first time) have got the stats completely wrong. Apparently Harry’s header in the first half didn’t happen and they had 3 shots on target!!!
The other week against Bradford we had no shots in the first half at all!
Is it someone from Flashscores that does the stats of from the club?

So do we think we'll stay up? Based on performances so far, I would say it's unlikely, although of course there's a very long way to go. For what it’s worth ( nothing I know ! ) my personal feelings are that we are going down at the end of the season . I have felt this way for the last three or four weeks and to be honest I have come to terms with this outcome . Yes I know that we have been on this fabulous unbeaten run , that has got the promotion chasers looking over their shoulders in alarm , and the team have been showing a bit more grit but the simple truth is we are not good enough any more . Obviously , should we manage to stay up then that would be awesome but I just cannot see it . Hell , I have even given up calling for Matt to go ! For me our only chance to prove my prediction wrong comes in January when we can perhaps get in a couple of good players to fight for our cause . But that may be difficult for two reasons : firstly we could be well adrift by then and who wants to come to a club going down and secondly I have been told time and again that there is no money to even feed the club cat ( there must be one surely ?) . So for me we are doomed . I’m not going to blame any one or two players or even Matt but am just trying to be a realist and cushion my feelings for the disappointment in store for us . Off to cry now 😢😢

Yes but win at Grimsby on Saturday and Forest Green & Tranmere both lose we will be out of the relegation places.
We are not cut adrift at present but certainly need to improve on that performance that's for sure.

Yes, we’re in trouble. But over the next 28 games we need to achieve THREE more points than Tranmere and Forest Green.

Blessed is the person who having nothing to say abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact.

Loius John’s equaliser has meant that we’ve now avoided a very unwanted record. Back in 2007/08, Derby County only managed 11 points over the season, which is the fewest of any league club since 3 points were first awarded for a win. So, onwards and upwards!

Fifty points is irrelevant, it’s having two clubs below you that matters.

Fifty points is irrelevant, it’s having two clubs below you that matters. Assuming that Forest Green and Tranmere will stay as weak as they are while we get a little better makes for a very optimistic calculation.

I’m not being pessimistic or optimistic, just stating a fact. We could stay up on 40 points or go down on 55.

I’m not being pessimistic or optimistic, just stating a fact. We could stay up on 40 points or go down on 55. In 2015/16 36pts would have been enough to avoid the drop. You just have to be better than the 2 worst sides, unfortunately we are currently the worst side.

Fifty points is irrelevant, it’s having two clubs below you that matters. It is not irrelevant, ok we might stay up with 44-45 points, but we still need to pick up more than 1 point a game in the remaining 28 games..
