Here is a question will we appoint a manager for our women before the men?

I am not surprised there were a lot of applicants, and I guess several will be people with relevant experience. If the successful applicant can save us from the drop he will be in very high demand this time next year as a miracle worker when another league club is staring at relegation. I don't know how the board votes but I have been through the media statements of Mbuzzsport Llc of the United Arab Emirates and A&S Developments t/a Acv Sports Venture Llc of the United States Minor Outlying Islands. Both see themselves as having bought more than a quarter of Sutton United FC Ltd., a Football League club. That being the case - just the two companies can out-vote all the other board members if board decisions are based on the basis of 1 share 1 vote. The other basis on which decisions might be made, 1 seat 1 vote does get uncomfortable if the two big interests are opposed. Today shareholders of SUFC Ltd received notice of the AGM on 24th January, but not yet of any business to be transacted. I hope the accounts to May 31 2023 are also to be circulated prior to this meeting, and those accounts will be of great interest. I don't think you are to far off the mark here, I understand that the US + Saudi maybe plus one other board member have overall control of the club from a shareholder basis. That gives them the power to change the board setup as they see fit. I think we will see more board changes in the not to distant future, hopefully the AGM may shed some light on the clubs future direction. As for accounts, I suspect we will only see the abridged version.

Karl Robinson has just taken over at Salford. A good appointment, like Danny Cowley, from what little I know, coming just 9 days after Neil Wood was sacked.

A couple of questions if I may to anybody in the know . The fact that both Colchester and Salford have appointed new managers whilst we continue to wait does this mean that they did not get as many applicants as us which would seem unlikely ? Also , the fact that our form this season and some of the performances this season have been so dire under Matt are we saying that no prior thought was put into who would succeed him if he was sacked , which seems a bit short sighted in my mind ? Please note that I am not criticising the board for taking their time and hopefully getting the right person in , I’m just a bit surprised and worried about the time slipping by .

I don't think we can come to any conclusions on the basis of what other clubs have done. Both Salford and Colchester went our of the FA Cup in the first round, so are not in the same situation as us. I fully expect an announcement next week. If we were playing Notts County in the league tomorrow, we'd have probably had that announcement by now.

Betting Suspended on New Sutton United manager as Steve Morison was favourite to take over from Matt Grey.

If he is the man, could be a decent appointment. Lots of experience at a higher level both as player and manager, and has come out on the right side of a relegation scrap with Cardiff I believe.

So it’s Steve Morrison, good appointment that, so now let’s all get behind him and move this club forward, also must say well done to the board for making a good choice.⚽️⚽️⚽️
