Over Tuesday , looking forwards to this afternoons match as we start February 24. Hoping to witness our first home win of 2024, our first since October 23, and maybe a league goal from Harry Smith, something not seen since November 23. Finally win lose or draw to enjoy a pint after the match with family and friends.

So we are now placing the blame on the ref before the actual game - hmmm. Sure the standard of refereeing is poor but the fact is it is not biased - just poor. All teams time waste and all suffer bad decisions. We are where we are through a mixture of the failure of the team to perform combined in my opinion with poor coaching and management for half the season and the reluctance of the Board to act more quickly on changing the latter more quickly. We still have a glimmer of hope with the new coach having brought in some new players and ideas but if we do not win games we will go down and that will not be attributable to poor refereeing. We’re now arguing against arguments that haven’t been made . . . Literally not a single poster who would blame referees for our position in the table! A fair chunk of the Harry Smith/Red Card debate was precisely that. 1. The Ref was wrong and it wasn't a red card. 2. The Ref's screwed us for the next 'x' matches as Harry is our only regular (sic) scorer. I don't recall anyone saying 'The Ref was wrong (and that's bad) but in a wider context it doesn't matter'.

There is a difference between talking about a bad decision in one game and blaming referees for where we are in the league. Not sure that is hard to understand. After every game people make points about the game. The ref is relevant to that. Here’s hoping for a competent one today.

Angol preferred to Smith. Must have impressed the new gaffer with the stylish way he smashed that sitter off the top of the bar on Tuesday.
This is it lads. No excuses. Time has run out for draws and second chances. All that matters is 3 points, and how that is achieved is secondary. Fail and the last 3rd of the season is a long, drawn out farewell to the football league, where most of us never thought we'd live to see us play, and almost certainly wont live to see us return.
A fair bit at stake today then... over to you Mr Morison.

I blame the ref!!!!!
We’ve forgotten how to win. Two desperately poor sides who would be lucky to be in the top half of the National League. I don’t think either will be missed by the EFL.
We’ve a slim chance and no chance of staying up and Slim has just left town.

What was that last minute? Absolute rubbish. I hope Steve gives all a big rollicking. 3 points in the bag and literally thrown away. It will be interesting to see who is in goal next week!!?? OK, points wise we are still Hopefully in it. But carry on,like that last minute, then it will be National league football next season.

Well that’s it for me . I predicted in November that we would be going down unless Matt departed . He did , but for me too late giving us too few games to save ourselves . The board and Steve have given us some false hope recently but this week was a 4 points at least week …… and we got just one . I know that some posters will say we still have many games to go etc etc but I prefer realism rather than fantasy .
I personally believe that we will be lucky to survive in the National League next season once several of our squad leave for pastures new in the summer and for what it’s worth I don’t think that we will .
Should we survive the drop this season I will buy everybody a pint in the bar …… but I will not be saving up for that situation because my money is safe in my pocket .
I’ve always thought rugby was a rubbish sport but this season has made me start to wish that my parents had taken me to a rugby match at those years ago as a kid and not a pre-season friendly at Sutton !

Some of the crowd are on the pitch…….
Who of the existing squad will be here next season? Not many.

Well that really was a dismal performance against a side who were as poor as we were. Probably a fair result but when you go a goal up in such a crucial game the one thing you mustn't do is concede. Goodness knows what Bouzanis was doing in the fifth minute of injury time but, it's cost us the match and very likely certifies relegation. A performance almost worthy of my old Sunday league team! Hugely disappointing is an understatement.

Well, as SM says, 'if you don't win, don't lose' and we've still plenty of points to play for!

Will 16 more 1-1 draws do?
I’ve said it before, we can’t keep a clean sheet and can’t score more than one goal therefore can’t win.

The new manager bounce turned into a slight undulation.
