We’ve won 4 league games to date. Our last win Boxing Day. Some people need to realise that wins will be extremely hard to come by.
Harrogate kept the ball in the corner for the last 5 minutes. We didn’t.

Five games under Steve Morison: four draws and one defeat, the same points record as Jason Goodliffe's. Jason at least oversaw a win. Doncaster today were a shadow of the side that thrashed us 4-1 back in October, though we were abject that day. The calamity in stoppage time this afternoon wouldn't have mattered had we scored more than once in the 90 minutes. Plenty of good approach play, particularly down the wings, but the crossing and finishing just weren't there. This result seems to have scuppered our survival hopes. But if we win our next two, we're more-or-less back on track. There's a challenge for Steve. Bob Hope.

I have to agree with others that the defending for that goal was something out of a horror show, I mean no one closing the punt in to the box and Bouzanis making a horlicks off it. The result showed why we are where we are, cannot score enough goals and keep conceding very poor goals . We are now relying. on other teams to drop points, but still sixteen games to go, lets hope for a miracle.⚽️

Looked like panic set in with a couple of minutes to go. Sadly that's a consequence of being where we are.

We didn’t. With new signings looking very good, the team gaining more possession in games, better pass rate, and more chances being created, we can at least hope wins will come easier than they have months ago. We were 30 seconds from one yesterday. But they certainly wont come easy.

Interesting post on Twitter by theflyingyorky
Probably the worst game of football I have seen (up against some stiff competition tbf), the dust up between Sutton yoof & Donny roof after the game was far more entertaining #drfc #sufc @gandermonium you lads must be gutted throwing it away like that.

Oh, there was some post match trouble then? I saw a bunch of our kids looking like they were looking for something (in that way) as we left the Rec Side exit. And shortly afterwards heard some noise (of that kind) in the distance.
I shouldn't take this lightly, really, but they all look about 12 years old, weighing in at 7 stone apeice.

I have seen it once live from the stands and then in the highlights and pitch side replays. After accepting that Dean was an idiot to come for that cross in the last minute when the chances of Doncaster fashioning a goal attempt that beats him if he stays on the goal line were negligible, I am still baffled by the Penalty decision.
In the build up, presumably the ref sees a foul by Smith because the Doncaster player stops the ball with his hand before taking the free-kick yards from the right place, and behind the ref. The ref is therefore much further away than he should be from the collision. Now, a keeper in his area is allowed to play the ball with any part of his body. The ball was in the air - no player in possession of it. So how was the collision a foul by any player?
Generally I thought U's football was much better than the last games under Matt, and most of the arrivals under Steve are giving much more energetic performances. Of the others: I have been critical of Sam Hart at left back, so I must say how much better he is playing away from that role.

We still only score one and concede one (or more.)

Dean collides with both defender and attacker knocking them to the floor, also having managed to catch Eastmond (I think) a blow to the head with his fist. I stand near the corner flag by la curva and I don't recall too many howls of outrage when the decision was given. But Mark F would have a better idea of the logic (sic) behind the decision.

While I was cursing the ref after the game (even after looking at the penalty decision on my phone), But after watching on my big screen and slowing it down and looking closely, I do think Deano hit the back of the players head first, so I do concede it was a penalty now. However, Smith did not foul the player and actually fairly held the ball up in the lead-up, so there was still an element of poor referring in the goal, which is nothing new for us. But to be fair I thought overall the ref was ok and it was last-minute nerves that lost us this one. I don't even blame Deano for going for the ball, but he did not need to go through their player mind! but given how our defense has been this season you can't blame him for panicking. Big ask now, if we don't find good away form now, we are down.

I said last week that if we didn't beat a side like Doncaster at home, we don't deserve to be in this division.
That opinion hasn't changed. Now I really really want our side to prove me very very very wrong.

The problem is that Bouzanis comes rushing out and as he goes to punch the ball he goes straight in to their player and knocks him over, so the referee must have thought that Bouzanis impeded him in getting the ball, that can be the only reason why he gave it in my opinion, but others have said that he gave it for the other penalty shouts they did not get . At the end off the day Bouzanis should have stayed on his line, like what you have said⚽️⚽️⚽️
