Just had a good laugh after looking at the Wealdstone Forum. They recon they had two cast iron penalties turned down! I didnt realise they had got in our box twice.Bunch of tossers! To be honest i thought they had a good shout for a hand ball in the first half but the ref missed it. Shame!

I was expecting this to be a closely fought game, but we ended up running away with it. Our best result and performance of the season. Before today in the league Wealdstone had only lost one game and conceded just four away goals. Those records are now in tatters. To be fair, they were missing two players (McCoy and Forbes) who did well against us in August, and they lost other players during the course of today's match. I still think they're good enough to make the play-offs - so this may not be the last time we meet them this season. As others have indicated, the loan signing of James Norwood seems to have taken our play to a different level. The longer we can keep him the better! But this was an excellent team performance - Sam Gargan scored a proper hat-trick (his goals were consecutive!) while Danny Phillips and Alan Bray also had outstanding games. If I were being picky I might say that the defence looked a little fragile on occasions, but we had so much of the ball that Wealdstone were rarely able to sustain any attacks.

Speaking of the Wealdstone fans ; a fair few turned up but they were bloody quiet. Stoney silence all through the first half, long before the game was out of sight. Admittedly they didn't have much to cheer about, but they could have tried something to lift their team.
Outstanding performance from the U's!

A few Wealdstone fans seemed to be having a pop at Dos just before half time. They were standing right behind the U's dugout waiting to get access to the bar.
On of them was getting pretty irate. Luckily it all seemed to pass without incident but they seemed pretty peed off with something (the challenge on one of their players I think).

Superb win yesterday. However lets not get carried away just yet! Lets see what we do against Tooting on Tuesday and Hornchuch next weekend. IF we win both games then we can have real optimism for the remainder of the season It will mean we've won 5 games on the spin. Only Dartford with 8 have done better.

A result we really have to build on now. We need results against Toots & Hornchurch in the next or we'll have wasted the momentum.

Yesterday was not the end, it was not even the beginning of the end but was perhaps the end of the beginning Wealdstone will say they lost 5-0 because they had a bad day at the office and until we go out and do the same thing again on Tuesday against Toots it could just be another false dawn

I'd include one for the FT whistle too, as well as PD's mid-match wave.

A truly tremendous way to celebrate Dos' announcement in the week.
You have to be proud when your team plays like that. The best we've been for a long long time.
We've shown patches of real style in the last few matches but yesterday was the first sustained high quality performance. Well done to all concerned.
Gargan scored a proper centre-forward's hat-trick but we looked lively and creative throughout the side which was a pleasure to watch. I don't think any side at our level (or the level above) would have lived with us today.
We're now entering a big and very busy month - a good time to hit a real purple patch.
Carpe diem!

I must say yesterday was a good football outing for me! All the players were fantastic.
I have one thing to add, Billy Hawes IMO has improved greatly since the begining of the season, i thought he looked shakey and really lacking in confidence in the first 6/7 games but the last couple of times i think he's been very good, his defending is much better and he is playing well on the overlap on the right wing, and has developed a bit of skill about him! Very happy.
Anyone else think the same?
