I agree Billy is getting better and better but I thought he looked good from the opening day.

Compared with AJ? No Billy does a good job for us and is perfectly adequate at this level plus he does have a long throw.

I think Goodliffe, Hawes and Gargan have been our best players by far over the season. Havent recorded any of them having a bad game.
Havent been impressed with Cobbs, think he is off the pace at the moment. Cant see him getting back into the team.

I would add Cobbs to the list you mentioned as i believe he has been very consistant.
I'm just wondering when Chukki's coming back. His goal scoring last season was a joy to watch.

Delboy, your fixation with Chukki is just plain boring.

Pouton makes a massive difference. At last we have enough footballers in the side to get it down and play - Phillips, Norwood, Pouton together with Gargan holding it up makes us a very different team. McKimm good in front of back 4 again yesterday, kept it simple and switched the play well. Also nice to see a few Hawes' throws going to feet rather than just lobbing it up in the air! I think Cobbs has done ok this year - probably a break will do him good as he's got through a lot of games and he'll certainly have a part to play for the remainder of the year. Agree AJ and Goodliffe consistently good.

I thought we were top gear on saturday, its been a long time since any Sutton side has ripped a top half of the table side apart like that. The whole time were all on the top of there game, Gargen deserved his motm, and every player was a close 2nd, i thought Phillips was unplayable, his got such vision with his passing, Mckimm & Pouton do a great job holding , allowing Phillps to run free and cause totaly mahem!! If this was a display from the players for Dos signing for 2 more years, can Bruce get Dos to sign up for the next 10 !!!! There only 1 Paul Doswell!!!!

Also, with the "Doswell chant" when i was round the otherside of the ground, it was very hard to make out... what was the song? Wouldnt ... "Doswells, barmy army" be easier?

Great minds. I've said from the word go that Danny is a fantastic player, and that we just needed to find a way to give him the freedom to play. The performance yesterday had two key things for me - discipline and movement. Poulton and McKimm were disciplined in their roles, while Charlie, Danny and Norwood were popping up everywhere. In previous games we've lacked that movement, which has made us a bit predictable, especially since Stefan hasn't been playing. Really impressed with the whole side. Great to see Wattsy getting a run-out as well.

What i'm loving about this thread is hardly anyone has said anything negative about the players - I think thats a testament to the strength we have in depth at the moment. Remember yesterday we had Matt Hann and KES as unused subs, both of which have been on good form this season and if either of them had to come on yesterday due to an injury to a player we've already mentioned earlier, we'd still have won 5-0.
I think part of it is we have more of a 'team' this year - seems like much more of a gang mentality rather than players looking out for themselves. The most obvious example from last season was Gav, but i'm sure there were others. This season, as Dos has said previously, that the right attitude is almost as important as footballing ability, and with the experienced heads of Perkins, Goodliffe, Mckimm, Pouton and Watts seem to be instilling that attitude into some of the younger players.
I've said for weeks now that I feel we are stronger than last year, and yesterday showed that in spades.
