Then OS I suggest you remove any reference of it, but I think that would be ridiculous.
I will say again I do not agree with statement but Billy is allowed his own opinion without people suggesting he is breaking the rules of the board.
Anyway what a great result with a "donkey" up front, and great support by us today if I do say so myself.

Billy actually said that Gargan is "donkey like". So he's obviously privvy to knowledge of Sam that most of us aren't.
Personally I'm just amazed that after convincingly thumping our great rivals 3-0, on Boxing Day, anyone would choose to search for things to criticise. Life's short, try to enjoy it.
Well played Sutton!

My first match of the season and here is my point of view. 3 welcome points and a 3-0 victory that did not flatter us. The chances we had we could have won by 6 or more and Taz would have to get an updated T Shirt. Saying that didnt think we were outstanding today and if we picked our final pass a bit better we could have had a record breaking scoreline against a piss poor robins side. For the only time in 30 years i thought that the Scummers fans actually had a sense of humour and i enjoyed their songs today! Woudnt go as far as to say i feel sorry for them but at least they sang songs today that were with a sense of humour even if they was taking the piss out of themselves. Finally HTF did our keeper win MOM? He only had one save to make all game and that was from a header that was straight at him the only other thing of note was making a cock up of a relatively simple catch. This was the most bizzare MOM calls i have come across!

Kind of sums it up really. Have you cracked open the Love Thy Neighbour DVD boxset yet? ;D I don't understand this at all.Could you explain it to me please Andy ? Bearing in mind I've just had to explain that I don't have a problem with your opinion 3 times and you still didn't get it, I don't think I'll bother.

I agree it would be ridiculous and I have no intention of removing anything, but what people should remember when they make any post on not only this forum but any other is that you can be sued for defamation and it has been done.

Agree odd MOM. Did everything well but only one save! Do think he is the best we have had for a long time though and he commanded the box well to take care of Carshalton's rather predictable launches into the box.

Isn't" Donkey" a technical term in football?
I believe some players have been called a lot worse than that on here over the years but in this case it just isn't warranted.Sam has a special role in our team and is a very important cog in the machinery. We mustn't forget that that our players are only part time players and that they have other jobs during the week which can affect how they play.

Man of the match for me was Kes.Dealt with most of the high balls lumped forward.

Billy, having the dumbest opinions about football of anyone on this board is one thing, but this persistence is making me think you are just trolling to create a reaction. And now I've fallen for it as well. You have successfully turned what should have been a most agreeable laugh at our neighbours into a sour subject. Congratulations.

Not sure how Billy has done that. He's mentioned one mild criticism of a player! If you disagree with the observation give us the defence of Gargan and what he has done well rather than just have a go at someone for having an opinion.

Can we all please stop getting personal and cut out the insults to other message board users.
We beat them 3-0 it wasn't a classic but it was a much needed 3 points.

That was a very satisfying result, if not ur best performance. ALL the lads worked hard out there on a very slippy and soft surface and it is credit to the whole team that we kept a clean sheet with what was essentially a makeshift back line.
We changed shape in the second half as Pouts looked to be running low on steam and Charlie looked to be hobbling slightly as he went off. While this did let them at us a little, we had a 2-0 advantage and it opened them up to the counter attack, which James Norwood in particular seemed to enjoy. We always looked likley to score when we broke away and their desperate defending gave away one penalty and should have given away another if the ref had been awake at the time.
All in all a well grafted and well deserved win, which EVERYONE deserves credit for.

Sorry guys but I must add one comment regarding Billy. He is very welcome to his opinions, as are all of us. However I have to agree with Andy K that he could be more eloquent when describing players faults. Calling Gargan a donkey and Heskey a tub of lard in one week is a little strong for this season of good will to all men. As for yesterday I have to admit to being worried at 0-0 as we did not win anything in the air at the back and our final pass was usually played too late or the forward made his run too early - take your pick. Carshalton looked very tired to me and couldn't cope with Norwood down the left. It was a great ball in from him for the first and an even better one from Pouton for the second. After the enforced subs early in the second half we sat back a little too deep for my liking and they had a lot of possession and did nothing with it apart from the one that Scrivens made a great stop from and then a second catch to the rebound. His distribution was excellent all afternoon although he did drop one cross that could have fallen better for the Robins. After a shaky start our back four of an attacking midfielder at RB and a LB at CH I thought they did well against Faulconbridge (spelling?) who was a handful in the first half. I am sure Jolly will be back scoring goals again soon but his thoughts were definitely on his winter holiday yesterday. Steve Watts coming on for the last 20 minutes showed us how to play up front, never losing the ball, winning it in the air, bringing other players into the game and finally his cheeky pen. I wonder what the real McKoy is after his debut yesterday. Committing 3 fouls with his first 3 touches and been spoken to by the referee he then showed us why Dos and AP are pleased to have him on board. He is a very strong & tall midfielder who needs playing time. Reminded me a little of Mark Golley but only time will tell. Just read Dos''s summary and reasons for substitutions. It all worked for him yesterday and hopefully it will also next Saturday. With very heavy rain forecast for Tuesday the away game with Cray may be in doubt. They did really well at Dartford yesterday but that was then and I am sure Micky Stephens will have seen how we can get the better of them if we play. As long as the players listen and learn from our truely tremendous backroom staff they will do well. I was pleased to see our old friend Wayne Shaw at GGL as GK coach. The most agile GK for his size I have ever seen. Although I should think Billy would call him a tub of lard ;D or donkey?
