2 days later and I still don't know how we won that, it was robbbery. But I'm not complaining. As for the afters, people on both sides need to grow up a wee bit. To see 6 or 7 grown men almost foaming at the mouth at Wayne Shaw was pathetic. I'm suprised we as fans get suprised when players answer back - how bloody dare they!
On to Croydon now, on paper we should win, but Football isn't played on paper........

On to Croydon now, on paper we should win, but Football isn't played on paper........ That is what K's supporters must have said when we lost 1-0. This is why football can drive grown men to drink and why so many people follow their teams. Days like Saturday do not come round very often and how many times have we been mugged at the end? Although I remember one famous occasion at Hendon when Nko Ekoku scored right on 90 mins after we had been battered for the previous 89. I timed our 4th goal at 95 minutes and there was still time for Wealdstone to attack once more before the final whistle blew. Goalkeepers of teams leading waste so much time taking goal kicks and on Saturday, at least twice , time was wasted when a second ball entered the field of play when Wealdstone had throw ins. Take that into account, add substitutions and injuries and 95-96 would be about right. According to filbert's 5.99 casio watch anyway and I am sad enough to start my timer on the whistle so I must be right. ;D

I am most embarrissed to admit that I missed the three crucial goals on Saturday. Just before half time at 0-2 decided to head for the VP's lounge for an early warming cup of tea. Mistake, informed two minutes later that I had missed the 1st Sutton goal.
Then late in the second half at 2-3 decided, like Billy, that it was getting a bit chilly and left early, which is certainly not my normal habit. In mitigation my Wife was ill in bed with the flu and I was feeling a bit guilty about leaving her for football that afternoon. Was well shocked to see the final score! Thank goodness for hughesvideo. Glad I missed the aftermath.
