www.suttonunited.net/news.php#1735Thanks to the six for are leaving us, especially Sam Page, who has been a stalwart in our defence for the last two years and been a large part of our success. OK, now cue Delboy's "Revolving door" statement....

Good luck to all six players for the future.
Disappointed to see Sam go most of all and I hope he finds a club that fits in with his other commitments. He has been fantastic over the past couple of seasons.
Who do people think will be captain?

Jamie Stuart! Dos basically said that in the interview last week "We've been missing a leader since Jason Goodliffe" etc...

.....should prove to be an interesting couple of weeks, PD has always said he likes to get the squad he wants in the early part of the close season and not leave till till the latter part and see whats left.!! As usual there will be a lot movement between clubs and players.

By the looks of the squad size and Dos' comments it looks like most, if not all, the business is done bar the left back.

.......would still like to see an additional proven goal scorer, someone who can put away the chances that are created.

Jamie Stuart! Dos basically said that in the interview last week "We've been missing a leader since Jason Goodliffe" etc... and in the link you posted "With Page leaving, Paul is particularly pleased to have secured the services of centre back Jamie Stuart, who signed last week. ''We needed a centre back who's commanding on the pitch and a good leader, which Jamie is, and he will be the new captain. "

So much for sticking to the one thread Anyway it's a shame to see Pagey go, he has never let us down and has been there with a few vital goals as well. Tags never really looked the player we saw at Eastleigh, Hunt did nothing wrong at his time with us. I think Fola has still a lot to offer and it's a shame we lose him. Leroy, he was probably the best passer in the side on his day but those days had been reducing since his wonder goal at Staines. Cannot argue with Dos's logic of the squad we have and it's really good to see that BWG name is still there and if we keep him I fancy a big season from him. I know just how much his football means to him and I know he has ability to burn.

Wow I only asked who might be captain as an immediate afterthought to hearing of Sam's departure.
I wasn't aware that I should have etched Dos' comments from over a week ago into my brain and trawled through old threads for the answer!!
I will know better next time (insert little smiley face picture here if I knew how)

OK, now cue Delboy's "Revolving door" statement.... No revolving door statement i'm afraid Andy. I could apply it to Uddin and Hunt who i understood were signed for next season but i never really rated either. Very sad to see Sam Page leave as i considered him to be an excellent defender and we missed him when he wasn't playing. Leroy has gone a little past his best and Fola and Tags couldn't commit to the new training hours or so i understand. No mention of BWG so i wonder if he will be with us next season. Also have we signed Boateng?
