I'm disappointed to see Sam and Taggs leave us, as I thought they were comfortably among our best XI last season. It remains to be seen whether the switch to morning training is worth the loss of such players.
Leroy had a great first half to 2011/12 but in the second half it did look as if age was finally catching up with him. I can understand his departure.
Fola did well for us in the Ryman but there were doubts about his contribution at the higher level and when the pitches soften up in the winter. Again, no surprise to see him go.
The other two didn't have much time to make an impact, and were both fairly obvious targets once a decision was made to trim the squad. Anwar got found out badly for pace a couple of times, but I thought Lewis looked a decent utility player.

Have to echo the thoughts about Pagey and Tags but if they can't fit into the new training regime, I suppose there was no chance of them staying. OS statement about Tags, IMO, is nonsense. He did some great things, was exciting on the ball & scored some good goals.
Not surprised about Leroy but to him, Fola & Pagey a massive thanks for their contributions to the club bearing in mind their value during our Ryman Championship season. And last season too. All 3 may have been at GGL a short time but they will be remembered in a positive vein.
Good luck to all those players who have left and I hope they find good clubs to play for & don't come back to haunt us too soon.

Dos in his notes mentions a squad of 16 +Telfs and Wayne.I'm not sure whether thats sufficient and do expect another one or two additions before the start of the season if the right players become available.

Only real surprise for me is Pagey. Great player and top bloke and must have been a tough call for him. Good luck to him and all the rest of the fellas. Leroy was immense first half of last season and helped set us up for the play offs. Hard to replace real characters like him. Anwar I dont reckon ever got up to full fitness and both him and Lewis game in to do a job and respect for that. Tags I can understand as he was playing that impact role off the bench and always gave it the full welly for us cheers mate and to Fola who will be in demand no question. Like the look of the balance but I reckon we will see one or two more in along with the mystery man

Just read the notes the club put out on the 3rd of February when it stated that Anwar had signed for this season and next. He will be a real asset but obviously not for very long!

Devistated about Sam Page. Though he was one of the best non-league CB's i've ever seen Top fellah as well. I still thing Tags could do a job for us but then he doesn't fit in with Dos's plans to have youthful side. Fola was obviously going to happen and Leroy, well, I just wish he hadn't missed that pen in the cup, otherwise I think he would have continued his excellent form before hand and could stay with us. Very best of luck to all the players that have gone. You've been part of some excellent memories which will stay in the mind of Sutton fans for years to come!

Nothing to do with not fitting into a youthful side, it's all about the training regime. Same reason as Sam not being able to do it nor can Tags.

Why are the Guardian reporting: The centre-back is one of a host of names leaving the club after United failed to secure promotion via the Blue Square South play-offs. Page, striker Leroy Griffiths, defender Anwar Uddin, winger Tony Taggart, forward Bradley Woods-Garness, midfielder Fola Orilonishe and full back Lewis Hunt have all been released. www.suttonguardian.co.uk/sport/football/nonleague/suttonunited/9738744.United_turn_the_Page/Have I missed something on Bradley?

On the official website, there is no mention of Bradley. So until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume that the Sutton Guardian has cocked up

sad news about pagey but assuming our new signing isn't in major decline, and that our new left back really is league 2 standard we have pretty much got a football league quality back line with scrivs, downer and stuart. I doubt any team in the division would have a better rear guard than that, although obviously that would depend on our centre backs staying fit. Even if not Osa looks capable of providing cover. I have always felt that having a defensive unit that plays together week in week out is the absolute most important factor in any team, and we just didnt have that last year because of injuries etc.
Cant say Im surprised Hunt and Uddin have left, although Uddin started to show signs he could be a really commanding defender in the game against H&RB
