Dare I say (without having watched the match) that we can't be too upset about that? 1-0 no disgrace.

The one goal came from either an own goal (as credited) or it hit a Salisbury players leg without him knowing much about it.
First half was almost a total cancellation - Salisbury may have just shaded the possession, but there were very few good chances for either side. 2nd half more of the same, but a bit more work needed by both defences. We had 3 chances at freekicks outside the box and we didn't take them.
To be fair our defence, even without the skipper (who I hear had flu), did a great job snuffing out Salisbury. Steven Old was the pick of the bunch for me today. What we were lacking was any killer punch up front. They have a big physical defence, and as Taz said on the terraces today "They do the simple stuff well". They are very well organised and strong, but to be honest, both Dartford and Woking last season would have taken this lot to the cleaners. It's more of an indication how much weaker this league is this year.
We lost a game which probably on a balance deserved to be a 0-0 draw, which of course would have been a great result. Although we came close on a couple of occasions, we never really tested their keeper, who I would say had an easy time in goal today.

They fully deserved the win. Without maybe being as strong as Woking and Dartford last year certainly by far the best side I've seen this season. Missed 2 or 3 straightforward chances in the 1st half which kept us in the game. We were better 2nd half but they went ahead through a fortuitous deflected goal. Good side. Number 7 exceptionally good for them I thought. We battled gamely and you couldn't fault the effort. Had a couple of good chances which could have got us something but it wasn't to be. Ref was awful, they had him in their pocket, lots of rolling around and he was definitely influenced by moaning home fans. Couldn't even put the wall back 10. Don't think it takes away from the fact they deserved it.

I would say "fully" deserving the win is a little harsh on us, especially our defence today. I think it's fairer to say that in no way did we deserve to win today - we were nowhere near good enough going forward to score, in all honesty. But I really don't think a 0-0 would have been harsh on them.
I wasn't at the Borehamwood game, but I did hear from others that they deserved that bigtime. And to be honest, at Eastleigh, they deserved to win because I thought we were poor. Still, leaving there with a 1-0 is still pretty credible. I thought their 2 centre backs were immense today, esp no5. And I also think that part of their success is they don't seem to have a weak link.

Well as they got in behind to our byline on several occasions and could have easily scored a couple more on another day I will disagree. Not saying we were bad (perhaps one player aside!), we did ok away from home against a side with a fantastic record.

We played well, could've nicked a point but 'nicked' would've been the operative word. They'll be worthy winners of the league on what I've seen.

I thought that Salisbury were the best team i've seen this season in our league & believe they will go on and win the league.Quality defenders and good wide players. We should have got a draw which i believe would have been a fair result on the day.Not a lot between the sides and it took an unfortunate deflection for them to win. Once again i suspect they are paying out big time .

Good to see Billy back spouting bollocks about a match I assume he didn't attend. A point at the leaders who have just dropped 4 points at home this season would have been great but in the end a deflected effort was enough to earn the homeside all 3 points. City contrived to miss 3 good chances, while we made one decent opening when Rivs hit the post & Harry B almost profited from a rare cock up at the back.
City were impressive; their back 4 solid & the no 8 playing in front of them also impressive. They also looked good on the flanks but in no way are they are Woking or Dartford from last season.
I thought we worked hard but just couldn't retain the ball enough.
The ref did very well in the face of some ridiculous histironics (spelling?) by some of their players and the reaction of their crowd at times was laughable. Not helped by the guy in their dug out (the manager) who joined in with it all readily. Next time City come out perhaps they should wrap themselves in cotton wall? They went down quicker than a whore in a brothel.
Good side, bunch of moaners.

Hi, Salisbury fan here. Thanks for the good noise today(one of the loudest away followings we've had at the Ray Mac this season). Thought you played well, on today's performance I'd say you should finish in the top half. You looked good passing, but your finishing wasn't there. I though we played poorly by our standards today, but did just enough to win. We sat back after our goal. Your defence dealt with our attack the best one has for a while(probably due to the sizes). Good luck with your season!
