Good to see they think we're promoted already "Next up, MASSIVE game this Saturday as Hemel look to progress to the 1st round PROPER of the FA Cup against Conference outfit Sutton United. "

Hornchurch played Hemel last week, so how good are Hemel?
Better than us Yesterday............ I think they will give Sutton a good game but heaven forbid if I had to put money on it I think Sutton will win. Hemel club House does not serve any real ale !!!!!!!!!!!!
*
Having seen both teams, I would say that Sutton would be clear favourites.
*
Very good side...think they will give Sutton a tough game.
*
Personally I feel they are one of the best sides I've seen at this level for a while. Very constructive advice from their coaching staff, rather than the wise after the event comments which seem common place at this level. A mix of pace and power throughout and all seem to know their role in the team. By all accounts last weeks game vs Dulwich was one of the best games seen for years and the result went the way I thought it would,at the moment Dulwich are a work in progress, where HH are flying. Sometimes it's very easy to criticise your own team but on on days like yesterday you must accept that at times they were too good for us. I would like us to try and take more care of the ball in those situations,as soon as we got the ball down and played it around we came more into the game. I don't agree that we didn't get close to them in that 1st half,it was that we couldn't get close enough. To me they are the standard bearers for our level at present, short sharp passing and knowing when to put your foot through it. I fancy them to beat sutton btw.
*
Hemel are an excellent side - the best side we have played so far this season definitely. I think Sutton will do well to remain in the FA Cup after Saturday. *
I agree, I think we would hold our own in the Skrill South with the current first team and we certainly gave Hemel a run for their money in the second half. I think that it would be a competitve first half with Hemel giving Sutton a number of problems but Sutton will just have too much for them second half as I think they're a really good team.

There has not been much on here about the match, not sure if that's fear or lack of interest I have read the last few match reports and comments regarding Hemel and there is no doubting they are a very strong side at the level below us, whether that translates into the same at this one is another matter? We have been where Hemel are now and went to Hampton and knocked them out but wasn't easy and they were not anywhere near to being a top Conference South side at the time and were on the slide, the same was true of Kettering. It was completely different when we played Wrexham, we had the feeling we could do what Hemel want to do us on Saturday but in the end they powered away from us. I totally expect Hemel to be confident in front of a partisan crowd and play their normal style of trying to get at their oppos from the off. I don't know but I guess Dos will go with the 4 at the back and it will be up to them to play as well as they have recently and keep a clean sheet. If they do then I think we will win with something to spare. It is the cup and the atmosphere will be tough and the Hemel lads will want it so any chinks in there or not turning up will see us left to concentrate on the league as they say. I trust this team to go to places like Hemel play our football, not get intimidated or bullied and get a result.

It is possible the team will be changed this week. I would not be surprised to see Sam Rents back and Dale Binns in his normal roll. The player to be dropped could be Dean Mc. I'm not suggesting he deserves to miss out, just a more solid team with Rents back in defence. And It does leave good options on the bench if needed.
As for Hemel they do seem to be a club on the rise. Income from their 3G pitch must help, that and other income streams are what all well run clubs must look to progress.

This is a Cup tie. The game won't necessarily be won by the better team. It will be down to which one rises better to the occasion.

Have to admit I'm buzzing for this one and have been looking forward to it ever since the draw was made - I expect a cracking tie.
Biggest game of the season so far for us in my opinion (until next Sat when we host Eastleigh) simply because of the reward on offer... a potential fourth first round proper appearance in six seasons for our lot - that's pretty good going!

The thing about the Hampton game was we played a mid table side above us. We're on a run, but as we know all I need to say is "Alton Town" to say that nothing is predictable in the cup.
I'm sure Dos and the management have done their homework, and there's no doubt that Hemel deserve full respect, even if they are a division below us.
To be honest, I'm nervous as well as other supporters. It certainly won't be a huge giantkilling if they beat us, but with high stakes, i'm sure we'll go out there and do our best.
Dos's record with us is either go out at the first hurdle or make it to the competition proper and go out to a league side. I hope that run continues.

Really looking forward to it. Big occasion and I'm sure our players will fight hard. First and foremost keep the discipline and everyone on the pitch. It sounds like their support backs them well and given our support is far far better away from home it should be a cracking atmosphere. Hoping we can produce a big performance so we can look forward to a 1st rd draw again. There are a couple of big sides waiting for us ... We are a better side now and looking ahead if we can get through this toughie there could be hope for further progression with the pressure off.

Alton Town Mr. K. You just couldn't leave it alone could you?
I've seem Alton thrice now funnily enough.
I'll be cheering on the U's from daughter's first birthday party. Apparently I'm not allowed to miss it even though she won't bloody well remember if I was there or not!
