Cant wait to hear about the game from those that went. Gotta say disappointing to lose a 3-1 lead but I think most would have taken a draw, have to make us favourites at home but should be another cracker.

Disappointing but i'm not surprised we shipped 3 goals after not conceding for so long!

A true nailbiter. To be totally honest, it should never have been a draw. Hemel score from a defensive error by us and a foul. Two awful penalty decisions - both Dundo and Skip didn't even get a card for those. The first penalty fell nicely for a rebound. The 2nd penalty should never have been given. Hemel had a nasty habit of diving and the ref fell for it every time. Lovelock gets a booking after their number 7 fell without contact being made. Their no4 gets a yellow and then nothing for 2 further bookable fouls in the following minutes.
My feeling is that Hemel have had their chance. I'm not being cocky here, but for a side who are unbeatable, they needed a lot of luck today to get a draw, and the standard in football between the two teams was very noticeable. If we had settled in the first 10minutes and the ref was more on the ball, we'd have cruised through today. I was very disappointed with the standard that Hemel showed today.
As for us, Dean Mc was good in the first half, best game he's had in a couple weeks. Mitch was a changed man after the goal - before his confidence had gone. The pick of the goals was Ali's first goal for the club, a cracking low drive that no goalie would have got to.
Still we're in the hat tomorrow, and I really believe we will overcome our opponents in what I think is Dos's first cup replay as a Sutton Manager.
Final thing - some of the Hemel fans were quite horrid were they not? A lot of Sutton are sh*t and general abuse, even in the bar before the game. And this continued during the game. Of course, you could drink on the terraces. I think the two facts could be related. If Hemel go up and with bigger crowds this is going to end up being an issue for them.

Leaherhead was a replay.Personally i had a good experience with Hemel fans who seemed keen on wishing us luck!.I understand that drinking outside the bar is prohibited for FA Cup games & they were clearly flouting this rule although i have no problem with it.

I can't really disagree with AndyK too much there was clearly a difference in ability and lets be honest we should have won with something to spare. The cup being the cup, the dodgy decisions, we at times tried hard to commit hari Kari with some quite bizarre out of character moments, laced with some slices of luck for the home side saw me quite happy to get out of the place with a draw.
As for the match I thought the wing back system was wrong today and gave Hemel opportunities in wide areas to get the ball into our box which was why we found ourselves a goal down after 4mins. I think when we reverted to the flat back 4 with Sam and Charlie we looked much more composed and think that system would have seen us win the game. I am really please for Mitch to get his first goal and at 3-1 we really should have powered away but what looked to be harsh penalty just before the break gave them the lifeline they needed. I stayed down that end and it was right in front of me and looked to me as if the guy just threw himself down between the 2 defenders? Not sure about their second pen as I didn't have a good view but we have the video.
The pitch wasn't good, the atmosphere was as I expected and drinking all around the ground at a FA Cup is as we all know banned? Anything can happen in the cup but Hemel will need to play better on Tuesday to go through.

Well, that had everything did it not? One down before we'd strung two passes together. Could have been two when Tomey spurned an opportunity similar to JT's at Lewes but then a great header from Mitch and U's were in total control for the next 20 odd mins. Dundo rounded off a fine move and then Ali opened his Sutton account with a screamer.
Perhaps we took the foot off the gas as Hemel threatened towards the end of the half before the first of three pen decisions. Too far away to comment but assume Dundo was adjudged to have fouled. Tom made a great save but a well controlled follow up gave Hemel a bit of momentum for the second half. With the considerable slope and the stiff breeze blowing down it, I thought we may be under the cosh to start. We were.
The lively Hutton broke through and went down after a challenge by skip. The ref gives another pen. U's are incensed, so look forward to seeing that.
U's once again steadied the ship but couldn't find a way through to goal. Then U's get a penalty; an extremely harsh decision on Diarra. Slabs steps up and 'keeper saves. The follow up high and wide.
Their no 4 escapes a second yellow on 3 separate occasions, Tom gets booked on what to me looked a clear dive by their fellow. U's have one more good chance when Clough winfs a header at the back stick but U's can't convert with 3 players in close attendance and the eventual effort is cleared from the line.
The match ends with two corners for the home team which U's comfortably defend.
Great game, decent atmosphere, both sides enjoyed good spells but I thought U's played the more controlled football and Hemel had to rely on two pens (the validity of which will hopefully become apparent on Video).
Possibly some poor refereeing decisions that were game changers, defo one and not to dismiss their no 4 was stretching the laws of the game beyond their normal parameters.
So to the draw tomorrow on ITV at 1.35. We are still in it and a replay at GGL. Probably shouldn't have been needed but that's cup football.

I was going to say "what a great advertisement for Non League Football" this was until I read Andy K's report. What game was you watching ? As for our support, we aren't all "horrid" old chap, why paint us all with the same brush ? Foul for the first goal ? your no 2 is twice the size of Hutton who turned him inside out, your no 5 should have been sitting in the changing room after his assault on Toomey and your keeper can count himself very lucky too. Both pens were "nailed on" even if Mackey was a yard offside for the first one and a ball hitting our defenders elbow when the ball was fired at him from a yard away was harsh to say the least. Why do clubs from your level always insist on giving it the "you are not worthy" when they lower themselves to play a club like ours ? I have no doubt you'll win on Tuesday but give us some credit please. It was a great game and the standard was very good indeed - from BOTH teams ! Hang your head Andy K and thanks Delboy, we are not a bad bunch.

Thought Hemel deserved the draw the way they played, they seemed to want it more in the second half. Expect much better from us on Tuesday. The ground was quite good with decent terraces and the 3G pitch was a very nice touch. Most of Hemel's fans were alright but a few were very hostile and I even got shoved quite hard by one of their very own 'Inter Zitty' crew whilst swapping ends at the start after a bit of harmless banter on the 3G pitch earlier on. Can't help but think most of those chanting 'Hemel till we die' will infact only be Hemel supporters until they go out of the FA Cup.
Generally a nice day out though, hopefully Tuesday will be a lot less nervy!
