What a crap day, Macclesfield score with final kick in injury time, not even time for a KO.
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
The football gods p*ssed on us and sent sodding moonbeams down for Macclesfield....
Our game should never had started, the weather forcast was for rain rain and more rain. The ref at Dover today had the sense to look at the forcast and not start the match.
Our ref with his dodgy pen at Macclesfield and this today seems to be on a single handed mission to hand the title to Macclesfield..
I am not p*ssed off I am super bloody p*ssed off....
From what I understand, Macclesfield's goal was from a ball running out of play, the defender left it to go out, it stuck on the pitch, and a Macclesfield player took full advantage...

A very frustrating afternoon. The Maidenhead pitch was in a poor state, though not as swampy as Brackley's last month. The big difference was that the rain at Brackley had stopped while it was still coming down at Maidenhead. Despite that, the 45 minutes of football produced five goals, some of them of high quality.
With Macc now six points ahead of us, albeit with a game more played, it's hard to find positives. But other results were quite helpful, with Aldershot and BW both drawing while Bromley and Wrexham drew with each other. And I note that there's heavy rain forecast for Monday - including in east Cheshire. 🤔

It was worse than that. Player flicked the ball on, striker plays it past the Woking keeper, begins to celebrate, Woking defenders stop, drop to the floor or hold their heads in their hands. But the ball then stops 2 yards out in a puddle, however with the Woking defenders not paying enough attention a Macclesfield player manages to beat them all to tap in from close range.

Can’t see Macclesfield slipping up now to be totally honest...

A wonderfully entertaining 45 minutes with some cracking goals. Pitch was barely playable with lots of standing water at the start. Not sure given the rain was still coming down and forecast to continue why the game started. It was obvious very early on it wouldn’t be completed. The pressure is certainly on us for Monday, we have to win to keep the title race going. You’ve got to take your hat off to Macclesfield, they keep finding their last minute winners. They will still drop points but we need to be minimum 6 behind with a game in hand post Monday’s games.

Thoroughly entertaining half of football - both sides could complain about their defending but there were some excellent deliveries and finishes, especially from Louis John (who didn't do much else of note in all honesty!). Enjoyable couple of post-marchers in the Maidenhead clubhouse with the squad. So great was the disappointment at the Macc winner that I cannot foresee anything other than a Sutton win on Monday 💪

IMO there were no bad tackles, few slips and both sides had got to grips with the conditions as best they could to produce one of the most exciting halves we've seen this season. Agree it should not have started but to call it off at half time? Just get on with it for ****s sake!! What's the protocol for replayed games cos there's no way Im paying £15 in again? It will be incredibly sour if we go on to lose.
All that said, other results below us went OK and for me finishing 2nd or 3rd is where its at. We are simply not ready for league football and this division looks more and more mediocre as the season comes to an end. I cant remember the last time we looked like anything other than a solid mid table team and yet we're still in with a shout. Given it I would take day out at wembley and another season in the national.

Was nice to see Jamie and Louis come and appreciate the Away support after the abandonment, shame that only two of the players came over but credit to all the team for their performance

I may be in a minority but I saw some positives today. Mainly that bearing in mind the conditions, I think that's been the best 45 we've played for a while. There was a real energy and teamwork we've not seen for a while. I was especially impressed with Walton. We also didn't get any yellow cards which would have counted.
It was frustrating that the game didn't run it's course and I understand those frustrations of the players. Dos stated that it was right to call the game off because someone could have got hurt. That's the sign of a brilliant manager, protecting his assets. Imagine if the match was played to it's end and Eastmond for example broke his leg? It's a no brainer.
There's nothing to say we won't go there midweek and win. And we could well be a little fresher for Monday.
We carry on and the prize is still there for us.
