You have to say that, if a goal like that were to put say Manchester City clear at the top of the Premiership, and to leave another side in real danger of relegation, that the proverbial crap would hit the fan big time. If the Maidenhead pitch was unplayable, then so was the pitch at Woking? To my mind the correct decision was eventually made at Maidenhead although the match should never of started. The decision at Woking, should have been to abandon the match at 2-2 on that bounce, and disallow the goal, the match could then of been replayed fairly for both sides? Clutching at straws there pal There’s no need to be clutching at any straws. We showed in the first half yesterday we are ready for the run in and we will stay unbeaten for the rest of the season. Now can Macclesfield keep scoring in the 90th plus minute I doubt it - there not FERGIE’s side of the late 1990’s or early 2000’s and we will prove to have the last laugh. A gripping month of April ahead. BRING IT ON.

Another belated entry.
There was never any prospect of this match finishing but once again it is the fans who suffer (from both clubs) a wasted afternoon for all. One has to ask what the motivation was to start giving it was raining already and while the pitch looked ok at the top end, walking down the hill to change ends, there was already standing water (about where LJ got kicked in the first minute)? I can guess what it was though and no doubt other forum users can to. Will be interesting what admission terms MUFC offer for the rescheduled fixture.
Having said that, both sides provided some very entertaining football; five goals, all of them of a good quality or higher. Sadly none will count but the source of Sutton goals just shows that we can score from all over the pitch.
It was evident that not every player was enjoying the conditions though and the ref had no choice but to abandon. Other than miss that first minute foul on LJ he did ok but why the hell was he dragged down from Liverpool in the first place unless he was in the area for Easter anyway? Have to question the people who run football in this country at times (I believe the FA has a policy of given each NL ref at least one match per season outside their normal stamping ground ,i.e. North/South divide) but even so.
Well done to the Safety Officer for abandoning the segregation once he realised the covered terracing originally offered was not going to be sufficient enough to house the excellent turnout from the U's fans.
Unfortunately, the only points on offer from this GF fixture were those potentially collected by the saturation of cameras on the M25. Methinks I may have been successful on that score. Lack of awareness on my part!! Perhaps I should bill MUFC cos they should have called it off at 8am seeing what the forecast was offering? Oh well.

Match Highlights:
They even out Louis Jean for the goalscorer, who is Louis Jean? Must be a new signing 😂

Call me cynical but it was my first thought on leaving the ground. Having heard the pitch passed inspection we stopped off on our journey from the west assuming it would be called off. Even the 8am inspection seemed strange (without a 2nd one) and almost a bit of box ticking the home club could point to to say the checks were done. There should have been a further inspection at the more sensible time of 10/11am pre travel time for most at the very least. The pitch on arrival was clearly close to unfit. What we couldn’t see was the area down our attacking right was already under water and a farce even before the rain came down a bit harder so no question it shouldn’t have started and had no chance of finishing given the weather was set in. I haven’t heard an attendance (or away one) announced, does anyone know?

Just looking at the start of the highlights as the teams line up you can tell it shouldn't have started, the rain adding to the already swamp-like conditions as the half progressed.

No internet since Thursday so hence my late comments. For what its worth it seemed like the 4th official was suggesting to the ref that it should have been abandoned in the first half and at 2-2 that would have been reasonable i guess except for the supporters. We are no worse off in our chase for the title than we were on Friday morning and reading the comments most expected Macca to take 3 points at Woking. We are 6 points behind with a game in hand and a better goal difference.
In my opinion Macclesfield still have 5 very difficult games to play in addition to Chester & you can see them dropping points so we have all to play for.

With Leyton orient and maidenhead being called off today. It does mean that the likelihood is our game at maidenhead will be the 17th as Leyton orient play that day already. Leaving Leyton orient to play maidenhead on the 24th.

Is it me, but why not just make the match free to all. Why free if you book in advance? Some who went to the abandoned match may not have the internet and folk like me who couldn’t make that match, but can book in advance get in for nothing. Seems an odd one to me or do they want to know roughly how many burgers to get ready? 😂

Maybe you're not too far from the truth there! They woefully underestimated the number of travelling supporters we'd bring on Friday; maybe they're trying to get a vague idea of how many for a Tuesday night?

One could argue it isn't for free. You are giving Maidenhead their personal information (including your date of birth), and they will send you marketing information about them, which you can opt out of. Specifically this line in their privacy policy
" send you marketing communications relating to our business or the businesses of carefully-selected third parties which we think may be of interest to you, or, where you have specifically agreed to this, by email or similar technology (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications);"
They are actually breaking the law if they do this. If they got rid of the word or in there, that's fine. So if you are booking tickets, expect the odd subscription to a newsletter or marketing communications you didn't sign up for.

I've just printed off my "free" ticket and was a bit peeved that I had to create an account with the club. I shall be unsubscribing and emailing them to stop any marketing gumph too. I see Ryan isn't going, so that is one burger less I suppose. Hey Ryan, I know you want to get to as many grounds as possible, but surely you'd prefer to watch with the Amber Army than go to Egham, I think you've posted elsewhere. Come on mate, the season will soon be over, watch this fantastic group of players while you can!!

I would be coming but my dad is working early the next morning and I’ve got a early start a college due to assignments so we aren’t really planning on going to maidenhead as Egham is nearer and is another new ground. Due to work and college we won’t be travelling as far to Maidenhead and I have to be home at a specific time to due my early start the next morning. Credit to all the Sutton fans that are making the second trip there!!!
