Totally agree about Dos. Without his vision, his ambition, his loyalty and no little financial backing over 11 years, we wouldn’t be in the position we find ourselves in now. Dos didn’t just pave the way, he took us to the brink of the Football League himself and he should, I think, feel part of this colossal achievement.

Wonder why she was there?

Nice to see Sam Kerr pop along to watch the game. Wonder why she was there? I noticed that as well. Perhaps she's a season-ticket holder!

Wonderful performance. Big congratulations to the players and management for producing the goods under intense scrutiny these last few weeks. Everyone waiting for us to crack, but we remained absolutely rock solid. I was there earlier than normal to get my favourite spot. Towards the back end of warm up Matt Gray was wandering around just watching from afar, looking relaxed as anything. That gave me a bit more calmness, the way we played I think it was attitude that went through the whole side - professional, hard working, good decision making, disciplined. Champions.
This will take some time to sink in, Sutton United - English Football League club.
Well done to all who work so hard for this club. To just keep afloat requires a lot of effort, even in the Ryman, to take us here is crazy and I thank you all.

So we win the Isthmian Premier in 2011, the NLS in 2016 and the National league in 2021. So in 5 years we are scheduled to be promoted to League 1. At this rate we will be playing in the Champions league in 20 years.

Like many now we have reached this moment, I don't really know what to say. From my 1st away game in 1975 at Hendon on a damp concrete step, I have dreamt of this day, and have been through the scenario many times. It hasn't sunk in yet, it may take some time to accept we are a ENGLIGH FOOTBALL LEAGUE CLUB....
There are many who are no longer with us who I know will be looking down smiling, and I am sure their angel wings will be going like the clappers. So many people have got us to this point, the board, the players, Matt and his coaching staff, Dos whom built the foundations from the ground up after our relegation to the Isthmian league in 2008. I know there has been times, the club had no money, little hope and a ground in decline. Even then I know people at the club dipping their hands in their own pockets to keep things going to pay players and for travel costs etc.
Many recent or young supporters will just be filled with excitement tonight, having been on a fantastic journey over the past few years, but I think for us old hands its all rather emotional and as I say will take some time to truly sink in, that my boyhood dream that one day Sutton United would be in the football league has really happened.

The problems of next season start here. Problem 1 Tanto is outstanding and why Millwall wouldn’t put him in their squad now I don’t know. If he does stay with us on loan it won’t be a whole season. Problem 2 think we will need to crowd fund buying Donavan as he’s class as well and Bath will want silly money for him. Problem 3 Matt is such a good manager every club is going to be looking at him. A good move that Bruce got him to put pen to paper then rather now. Problem 4 Do we / can we stay part time - otherwise we may lose some of the squad. This squad is good enough for league 2 now. Problem 5 I though we would be playing lots of new teams next season but depending on the playoffs we played 50% of them before But these are the kind of problems we want-would you prefer a poor showing in the league, finishing near the bottom, with a demoralised squad that can't cut it at this level and a complete re-building job? Matt in his interview after the game said that he thought that Tanto would clearly be wanted by Millwall but still may be able to stay with us on loan. Donovan was playing NLS football and now has the opportunity to play in the EFL. Matt will want to build on his 1st full season Im sure and we will be F/T. New season, new opponents, but nothing top fear....its all good!

As a game, it was a pretty straightforward one. I went into with with confidence knowing that it was Hartlepool's away form which prevented them being a title challenger. I know they had a goal disallowed and they hit the bar, but I don't think the 3-0 score was flattering - we had more than one chance that hit the woodwork, a wonderful save from their keeper, and overall as a unit we were far more organised. Our performance today encapsulated our season. Organised, playing wonderfully as a unit rather than a bunch of 11 players.
Today was a champions performance, which reminded me of the one in 99 against Aldershot. Job done, and history made.

An amazing day, I recently had some health problems that are on the mend but glad to have made it today. I wasn't well enough to celebrate the win with drinks but I feel so much better for the win. It has been noted on the community that we have some welcome problems like retaining and paying for players. Today's display was so good, getting promoted by winning the league and Matt as manager fills me with optimism that we can maintain our EFL place next season. I am seeing opportunities. Sure their will be many moments of pessimisism next season but we can look back on today as a source of inspiration. Onwards.
