Yes I noticed that he went over to her at the end. An Aussie and a New Zealander. I like the fact she mingled with the fans though.
I am stunned though. Truly stunned. I know that I posted that I think that Barnet could nick a point against Torquay and Sutton would win today, but boy I never thought that they would do it in the manner they did. (Pity that I didn't take up that 18/1 offer, but I don't gamble). It was one hell of a performance.
My very first Sutton game as a 7 year old kid was Sutton 3-0 Aldershot in 1987, the second at home to Middlesbrough. Since moving away I've always kept up with the team and returned on December 3rd 2016 to see Sutton beat Cheltenham. And we all know what happened after that.
I then got the bug and have been back up to see many games, even taking friends with me and they all enjoyed it immensely. The whole place must be completely buzzing right now and my congratulations go to Matt and the rest of the management team plus every single player.
No big celebration for me though. Making a beef cannelloni, (cheating a little with the red sauce) and a glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

A memorable day!
I feel very lucky to have been there today, The performance was superb I thought from the team - especially second half when we just kept running at them. The moment especially when the second goal went in I will never forget - that was the moment I think both the fans and the team realised it was going to be our day.
Started going to games in the 2010/11 promotion year, so have now seen 3 promotions in 10 years! Onwards and upwards....never did I think that Sutton could become a league team - but I actually think we will do well in league 2. The club is well run, has a great team and manager as well as fantastic fans of course!

Bit shocking from the BBC. I purposely put on the BBC London news and not a single mention of Sutton achieving the impossible. Shame on them.

I have watched Sutton United since 1988 and that day we won 3-0 and today we started knowing a win would see us in to the football league, if I told myself back in 1988 that one day my team would achieve the amazing delights of the football league I would have laughed. I can not say this season has not been anything normal but we have played football of the highest caliber and today we are CHAMPIONS OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE. Sutton United are a football league club. Sounds nice so a BIG THANK YOU to the players, the management and the board it is your success of running a tight ship and just getting the best out of everyone. So next season League 2 football. Come on the U's!

As one of Sutton Utd's most geographically distant fans, can I note through misty eyes two things:
Jack Goossens is smiling down on Gander Green Lane right now.
And: can we make sure the ground upgrades that now take place ensure the Shoebox Terrace retains and even enhances its shrine status - Gandermonium Lads - get onto it.

I'm just surfacing this morning after some rather extended celebrations yesterday afternoon and evening! There's little I can add to what's already been posted about the magnitude of the club's achievement. But perhaps there should be a few more words about the game itself.
Let's not forget that at kick-off there was still a possibility that this team could blow it. Some fans of rival clubs had talked of us bottling it or choking. But once the match was underway there was no sign of that happening. As we've come to expect from this exceptional side, the performance was disciplined, calm and professional. Even after Hartlepool came close to taking the lead with a shot off the goalframe, there was no nervousness or panic.
Their keeper kept them in the game for over an hour, despite his handling error (from one of Rob Milsom's wicked free kicks) gifting us a goal. But, as at Maidenhead the previous weekend, patience and perseverance paid off and two more Sutton goals eventually followed. It was fitting that Louis John - for me, our player of the season - scored one of them.
That was only the third time this season that Hartlepool lost by a margin of more than two goals. Our record though is better still.

Huge congratulations to all involved on such a wonderful achievement and memorable afternoon.
I'm a relatively recent convert to the club becoming a regular supporter just a few seasons ago, buying a ST and am now a shareholder too. Still feeling absolutely delighted this morning. I can't begin to imagine how it must be for those of you who've been following the team for much longer than me!

A fantastic performance, particulalry against the elements in the second half and a great way to confirm the club's highest honour in just over 123 years of history.
Not going to give a detailed account as anyone remotely interested would have made sure they saw the match but it was a fitting spetacle and BT must have been overjoyed with how the match went and the fact that they could broadcast the after match trophy presentation.
It was a long day for many of us and even longer for some so a big shoutout to Messrs Joyce, Chenery, Staples and Thomson (eldest) for getting to the club at such an unGodly hour on a Sunday morning. To say the car park was a challenge yesterday was an understatement but those who took up that challenge rose to it.
Of course, we were all well rewarded by the events on the pitch from our brilliant squad of players and our fantastic management team. Congratulations to all. You cannot begin to imagine how proud and thankful and yes, happy you have made this 59 year old grouch.
Sutton United Football Club, 2020/21 National League Champions. What a sentence to be able to type.

What a glorious way for the fans to return to GGL. It was a real pleasure to see this team in the flesh. That they delivered such a commanding and confident performance was a bonus - the pre-match nerves barely surfaced for me during the game. If memory serves (and it was a fairly liquid afternoon and evening) the final 15 minutes in particular looked like a league side giving a non-league side a good hiding! I'm going to have to watch the game again (and again, and again).

Highlights are on BT this afternoon at 3pm I see so will see what it looked like on the TV. Only slight disappointment yesterday was that there was nowhere to get a drink to celebrate at the ground.
