Notts County win via penalty shoot out after extra time. No doubt they deserved promotion over the whole season - not sure they deserved it today given that their goalkeeper should have been sent off after 5 minutes when giving away a penalty. Don't think Wrexham or Notts County will be too worried about reaching the 50pt mark next season - or will be worried about balancing budgets between player recruitment and ground improvements.

Two teams that will have massive budgets and be able to buy all the toys in the shop - like Stockport this season. If they don't go up this season- they will fill the automatics places. Having bought their way out of the NL in the last 2 seasons between them they will carry on doing it. We cannot compete. Also the return to rivalry with a team in Notts County that we have never beaten. The NL looks comparatively weak next season.

And they will be set by the same fair play rules all teams are in the EFL. We've competed with sides with bigger budgets than us for the last 2 years. And did so in the National League. And there's no reason to suggest we won't next season.

And lest we forget, in 2021 a team with one of the lowest budgets won the whole damn thing.

Salford take a slim lead into the 2nd leg - they beat Stockport at home 1-0 yesterday. Bradford host Carlisle at 7pm tonight.

I'm sure everyone is genuinely pleased for Notts County. Deserved it over the season but made hard work of the play-offs.

I would have preferred a team that has to rip their pitch up and lay grass and therefore not be able to spend their whole budget on players as opposed to a team that has to do nothing to the ground etc. Even Chesterfield would have been better. We've never beaten County and no doubt they will be strong next year.

Morecambe, relegated to EFL2 next season, have released 14 players (every player who will not still be under contract for next season) amidst concerns about the financial future of the club. Fun fact: Morecambe's relegation is the first in their entire history. They've been around for over a century. (when I say 'fun fact', obviously it's not fun for them!).
