Yes. It's just that all of the evidence that we have points towards us not getting very many of them.

Check out the recent run of Doncaster.
Anything can happen.

Same old, lack of quality where it matters, poor decision to let Smith take the penalty, that has to go to your most experienced player, 'Craig' should have taken it.
Changing the manager hasn't helped without the addition of quality to the squad. We might as well change the system now and go all out attack over the next 12 matches, draws are no good.

Over for only my second game of the season. At least we got a point this time!
I was quite struck by the lack of urgency as the clock ticked down. We played OK but the attacking threat simply isn't there. Not wanting to sound wise after the event but I thought Smith was bang average today and showed very little to suggest he'll be the one firing in the goals to propel us to a victory or two before the end of the season. The penalty was poor and his overall application was, to me, wanting.
Arnold pulled out one absolutely fantastic stop and Clay, Coley and Hart toiled away honestly but it was all rather flat.
My big concern isn't relegation so much as how the team finds a way to win again. We've only won 19 games over this and last season (80 matches). Since this time last year, it's 6 in 48! Not winning became a habit at the end of last season and we've found it impossible to shake off. Something in the DNA of the team is going to have to change to ensure that the habit is kicked for the 24/25 season...

I'll be told that this is ahead of time (and in some ways, it is) but to answer your question; I think it's the composition of the team that will have to change. I have a lot of time for many of our squad. But keeping a losing team together, into a new season, is rarely a smart move.

Should have been 3-1 up at half time. Ben's header & Harry's lob could have put the game to bed. Shocking penalty and i thought that Craig should have taken it all day long. Didn't lose any ground to Grimsby but we must start winning games soon.

Have to agree that Eastman should have taken the penalty, the pressure was on to get the win, frustrating.⚽️⚽️⚽️

A disastrous home result against a team in the same dire situation. Twelve points from the last 12 games will not be nearly enough and Forest Green Rovers have a game in hand and Grimsby Town have two. It's difficult to see how our League Two status can be saved.

At least Mr Morrison has improved his points per game ratio. Presume he must have designated Smith as penalty taker. It really needed to be taken by a player with composure, not a quality I associate with Smith . Mr Morrison really played with his team selection our Mr Tinkerman now I guess.

I noticed 2 Colchester players encroached into the box before Smith hit the ball!

Sadly not one of the four match officials did or if they did have the bottle to do anything about it.

If Dean B was dropped why wasn’t he on the bench.
