Same old. Not good enough at both ends unfortunately. They’re putting their best in, of that there can be little doubt, but we just can’t put the ball in the net. And at the other end see how easy they get from keeper to in behind down our left for their goal - an issue unresolved season long. We have a reasonable set of players but a couple of glaring weaknesses. Arnold’s display was excellent (other than getting his wall a touch wrong) and to me he looks comfortably our best keeper, it wouldn’t have saved our season but beyond comprehension we haven’t seen more of him. Duke-McKenna not starting is infuriating.

Another tight game that we didn't win. This is becoming a theme. We had the chances, even before the penalty, with two headers and a couple of shots just wide, and Harry's chip cleared off the line. Steve Arnold kept us in the game with three fine saves.
Suspect defending gifted each side a first-half goal, but, with eleven minutes of the ninety to go, we had the opportunity to win the match from the penalty spot, Failing in big moments like that is a sign of a club on the slide.
I'm unconvinced that Steve Morison is able to bring any decisive edge into our team's performances.
Other results didn't quite go our way today, and we stay bottom.

Another decent performance in general, apart from a very shaky start giving them another goal. Obviously this defence is not going to to change this season. They seem to need to concede before they can spot a threat.
I think the pressures is showing, where we must win, while other teams can settle for a point, it seem to make scoring harder, We are just too desperate. Colchester were time wasting at 1-1 in the first half! as they just needed to maintain the gap, same with Doncaster and same with most of these relegation scraps we have had.
As for H Smith, I cant see why the striker cant take the penalty, so not really an unusual decision. It was a Poor penalty but just a lot of pressure, every game.
For me Arnold looks a bigger presences in goal today and made a couple great stops.
Give it a few more games and if we are still without a win then Steve should just start giving the young lads some experience at this level which could put them in good stead for next season where its looking like a rebuild in the Nat league will be needed where we will likely rely on some young players.

If Dean B was dropped why wasn’t he on the bench. Was told that Arnold is now recovered from injury so replaced Bouzanis who has been carrying a foot problem but hasn’t been anyone else fit enough to replace him until today. Guess that explains the kicking issues of late.

I made my mind up some weeks ago we were doomed. Now interested more in the National League results to see who we will be playing next season.
Did anyone know Clay had been injured? I thought he was just out of favour.
Obviously no injuries from last weekend apart from our goalkeeper! Makes the interviews a bit of a joke.

I noticed 2 Colchester players encroached into the box before Smith hit the ball! I don't think that's the reason that he missed the penalty. No but after the keeper saved the penalty one of the Colchester players who encroached was able to clear the ball before Harry could get to the rebound.

Message from Hendon FC
Today was the last game for @mattkerbeyy as he returns to Sutton to help out their GK shortage.
Matt has been outstanding for us this term, and while we're sad to see him go, we're excited to watch his next steps at Sutton.
Thanks, Matt, for your efforts, go well 💚

Now we need Kasimu and Tope back, surely better alternatives to Sanderson and probably Angol.

Maybe SH is trying to be a bit too clever in rotating players to surprise or negate the opposition. In my opinion we don’t have great strength in depth. I hope this isn’t the case but it looks as though he is still unsure of his best eleven. Too many changes every week.

Didn't score the goal. Didn't win. Ref's fault? We really should just cut the crap and take these guys to a tribunal. What with Paz's suspicions of bribery and corruption. We'd be doing everyone a favour.

Good spot, lino has a job to watch this, and that player did go on to clear the ball as well. No particular surprise that they missed it. Also, another handball in the box in the first half ignored, which Morison clearly saw and was shouting at the 4th official about Then there was their players trying to scuff the penalty spot and were not even booked. Its just something to be expected now. At least we got one of the penalties, which was better than the Wrexham game.

Ref's being rubbish does not give us licence to blame them for our misfortunes. And please don't ask me to believe that that is not the point of some posters bringing the Refs' 'inadequacies' up. Match after match. Because I've been around this forum for a long time now and it really doesn't happen anywhere near as much when the team are actually doing well.
