Although freezing gate prices may seem fine, a lot of peoples disposable income may have dropped as in my own case ; i am thinking of dying my hair grey , walking in a slow shuffling style ,dribbling out of a corner of my mouth and gaining entry as an OAP!

My mate managed to get into Hayes a few years back as a 'Concession' at the age of 32 because he didn't know what it meant. The guy at the gate didn't even question him.

I might try and go the other way. Invest in some botox, buy a school blazer, photocopy my birth certificate and fiddle the dates so I halve my age... got to be worth a try(!)
Serious question though - as someone who only became hooked on the Sutton way of life at the start of last year - how much is a season ticket likely to set me back? Does it just cover league matches?

Think mine was 165 quid, and covers all home league matches, friendlies, youth and reserve league games and I think gives you priority on tickets if there is a Coventry/Leeds style game. Oh and you automatically become a member of the stadium club, which allows you to use the players bar out of matchdays If you intend on coming regularly, its certainly worth it!

i will be strolling round there on a few sunny afternoons. Ninety percent of the games i witnessed last year (21 home games in a row) were absolute garbage.

Ah you mean the season where we only lost (narrowly) at home once in the league by any chance? Totally agree, utter rubbish, I'd much rather have it the season before where we won one league game all season at home and that was New Years Day

There were some poor quality home games admittedly, but I think 90% is a bit harsh. Besides, as Andy says, having won 1 home game the season before, I didn't particularly care about the quality!

Do you like a good wind up, Billy?

Please don't wind people up, the internet is serious business, you wouldn't want some to hit caps lock and unleash the fury!

I don't know what happened in the previous season, ten years before or when Trevor Bladon was playing.i'm merely making some observations on the games i witnessed last season.
I went to 21 games from Heybridge Swifts until the final home game.In those 21 games Sutton....
Won 9 Drew 8 Lost 4 (including extra time)
The cup competition exits (all at home) seemed to be greeted in here and by the club with delight.Having frozen my bollocks off with another 100 or so mugs i didn't see it in quite the same way.Everything was geared to getting promotion we were told,it didn't happen.
The turnover of players is nothing short of a joke, you are watching a different "team" every week. Some of the players were unbelievably bad, especially that right back who after putting in the worst performance ever seen in the first half was then forced to go to left back.
I've given it a good go and now i am going to limit myself to the odd game on a sunny afternoon.

Then Billy I hope you enjoy yourself. If we get off to a good start you know you won't be satisfied with only the odd game and start coming regularly again.

Blimey Billy you sound awfully like the chap you tend to sit with at matches. I reckon some of his not always positive attitude has rubbed off on you. Last season a squad was put together from nothing. It then suffered a number of injuries as well as the need to change personnel to cope with the general aproach to football style that now operates in the RL. Nobody said that we would get promoted & the play-offs as an objective was met. I agree with you on some of your points about reactions to cup exits but we did have our best run in the FAC for years & as a result had a backlog of league fixtures that tested the squad to the limit mainly 'cos of the reasons mentioned above. Last season was one of the more enjoyable over the last decade and considering the 1st XI is going through a massive transition at present, I would be happy with a similar finish this season with winning promotion a bonus. These things take time & patience is a virtue - why not show a little? ;D
