Watch out for this man for us, Adrian Cieslewicz...AKA "Cheesy"... Great player with alot of talent and skill! And watch out for this one: Who needs wingers when you can hit them from midfield

Great to see a good warm up for this on here with plenty of input from the Wrexham. I would offer up New Zealand full international Steve Old at the back as the man who has helped sort our defence since his arrival. I would also doubt you will have come across a man mountain like dundo in the middle of midfield. Hope him, Jamie and the rest are well over the virus that's going around. As well as Beauts I fancy marvin Williams as a potential match winner for the occasion as we seek another cup upset at the famous gander green lane. Parking wise if you lot can't get in around the ground tescos on the A217 near the junction with GGL is free and less than ten mins walk. Have a beer in the club and the money goes into football. The plough over the road was last redecorated when Newport were up a few years back. Looking forwards to a proper old cup tie

I never understand why a player should go for a trial in the middle of the season. If they have watched him then either pay the money we want or go away!

Seeing a player on the pitch isn't the same as seeing the guy in training in terms of workrate, attitude etc. There's also the point about how well that players personality will blend into the squad. That last factor, I'd say was a major reason for us winning the league 2 seasons ago. They were good players, but blended in very well.

The game should be fine with only light rain maybe sleet forecast for the game, but with snow set to arrive Sunday / Monday if you want to see a match this might be your last chance for a while.

I take your point Andy but it doesnt happen higher up the leagues and they either like what they see or they don't.

I take your point Andy but it doesnt happen higher up the leagues and they either like what they see or they don't. That's more than likely because at that level it is deemed to matter less, and as professionals, clubs have more sway in the contracts that their players sign. Remember regardless of what other sides are saying, we are part time, players have jobs as what we pay they cannot live off.

By Monday probably only fit for polar bears

Wrexham fan here, have been enjoying reading your site- one of the great things about this competition is finding out more about clubs that aren't in the media so much (although I remember various Sutton cup exploits over the years)
A bit of a strange statement in the sutton guardian piece from your manager describing us as 'not a young team', yes we have a couple of older heads in the squad (Morrell, Ormerod, Westwood, Keates and Glen Little) but we also have a lot of youngster. The average age of our starting XI in the win against Alfreton last week was 26.
As other Wrexham fans have said I expect us to put out a pretty strong team- without an FA cup run this year we need the money! Also this is a fairly small squad with an extremely strong team ethos- they play for each other and we don't rotate too much because of that.
Looking forward to a good match whatever the result, wish I could be there!

Strangely enough I am not worried about us being 3 strikers light as 17 players have scored for us in the league so far with a total of just under two goals a game. Wright was, though, on fire in recent games and was almost unplayable. What we will have tomorrow is a smaller forward line (probably Cheesy, Ogleby and Rushton, and two of those are probably the quicket players in the squad. I would gues the only way we could match the height of your big midfielder is for Keates and Harris to both play and one to sit on the shoulders of the other. There have been times, when Dean K has lead out the mascot, that you have to guess who is who! However, what they lack in height is more than made up for in ability and being almost a perfect combination. It also means, without Wright, that we are more than likely to play football rather than long balls. We will probably have one or two changes in defence. Coughlin, the sub keeper, may start and is still a raw talent who does not combine his box anywhere near as well as Mayebi. I also expect Declan Walker to get a start (he was named in the NLP a couple of weeks ago as one of the young players in the non league to watch) In relation to your manager's point about the overnight trip, the team will have done it because, under the rules of the FA Trophy, up to, I think, up to £1000 comes out of the gate receipts to pay for it before the remaining money is divided between parties entitled to a cut (home team, away team, FA).

The weather is starting to rack up victims on the BSS fixture list today, mainly on the South east coast - Eastleigh, Havant and Eastbourne games have all been postponed (playing Dorchester, Boreham Wood and Bath respectively).
