I'm a bit confused here - Wrexham won 5 - 0 ! Speaking of that , is this an ideal opportunity to put into practice sallycat's theory expounded in the Salisbury v Sutton thread ? sallycat wrote....
As others have pointed out, you don't need to have goals for a match to be exciting or a result to be good. Even a match with 5 or 6 goals only has actual goals being scored for less than 1% of the ninety minutes. Only takes a fraction of a second for a ball to cross the line!Have i got this right ? Do we ignore the 5 goals and concentrate on what a good match it was. Billy, I know you can read, so how are you turning "a 0-0 draw CAN be exciting" (which is not a "theory" because it's not measurable or falsifiable; it's an opinion) into "goalless games/periods are more exciting"? Personally the bit I enjoyed best was the goalless first 25 mins, but then I am biased! ;D

In PDs post match interview he says: ''..it has been difficult over the past few weeks financially with games being called off, and we have to make sure we react accordingly, so it may be necessary for one or two players to move on and that will give a chance to one or two of the reserve players we’ve signed on Blue Square South forms.''To make financial sense the player/s to move on would be the higher earners. It would not take much guessing who that could be. Could move on mean loan out? Ok Stewart.Who's your money on?

I really don't think it is wise, prudent or good for anyone's morale by naming names of who could be out of the door. Certainly not in a place where said players could easily read it. Regardless of what you think of the players on a footballing level, some of these rely on the income that the club gives them for playing. If a few people were getting made redundant at where you work, would you like to have people speculate that it's you on a public forum?

I hope you will make allowances for me though.Don't forget that i'm a senile old dodderer who is fast approaching his 60th birthday. This is my 54th season of watching / playing football , my first was 1959/60. The older i get the harder i find it to understand what used to be a simple game. xx Bill

I understand! But even in those days some games finished 0-0 Yes, it can be very exciting when lots of goals are being scored. But actually, in a game like Saturday's, it would be far more exciting for a Sutton fan for it to be 0-0 towards the end - with the possibility of a replay and the chance for the game still to go either way either now or in said replay - than being 5-0 down with absolutely no chance of getting back. It's not all about excitement, of course, but I'd have preferred the draw thanks! 0-0 tonight would NOT be good though!
