Joke club and even more of a joke sponsors!! What a ridiculous statement!! Well it does say 'bollox' in it and 'faceless gorps' and that might just upset a couple at the conference?

Surely this time the league must take strong action against them - for breaking the rules and bringing the game into disrepute.
I read at the weekend that Paddy Power originally approached Welling and Aldershot with an offer of 'sponsorship' (if that is what you can call the arrangement that they have with Farnborough). Presumably the owners of both clubs put their integrity ahead of financial gain.

Quote from the Conference Chairman, again I think from the NLP
"There is no excuse for them. That money is needed to guarantee the club can complete the season and protect others. We have rules and regulations that the clubs vote on and they have failed to meet the deadline not once, but three times."
"Farnborough are still not a member club and there is a real chance they will not be able to compete in the competition this season. There is a meeting on Monday where the matter will be discussed further."
"The situation has absolutely nothing to do with Paddy Power. Although it is only right that our feelings are known on their arrangement with the club so let me be clear; it's an embarrassment for everyone. It's a cheap publicity stunt that is not at all welcomed by the Football Conference."

Strong statement from the Chair on them and clearly has a tone to suggest that Day is trying to make idiots out of them. I don't know enough about all the rules to say they will be kicked out today but I bet if the Conference can find a way they will.?
I say Day and not Farnborough because its not the fans fault, it comes down to one guy who thinks he is clever and can do what he wants.

Westley may be dodgy as anything, but he does have an idea about football. Mind you, you try saying that to Farnborough supporters... Alan Inns reveals on Twitter today twitter.com/innsy that he refused to change his name by deed poll but all the others have!

I see Maria Sharapova nearly did a Farnborough. Apparently she wanted to change her surname to a name of candy she's promoting for next weeks US Open. Fortunately she's changed her mind. This would have made an absolute mockery of a major championship.

Decision from Conference is late after a long meeting today, Farnborough fans biting their nails.

According to the Farnborough website (via non league show twitter feed), there are more conditions for them to meet and they have been given 14 days to comply. Until then they are still not allowed into the league or cup.

Which at the moment, assuming their things are sorted in 14 days, that their first home game will be Dover on 7th and first away will be us on the 14th. They obviously won't be match fit, as their last game was against us on 10th August. Not the easiest 2 games to come back to! Oddly enough Dover come to us after the Farnborough game. It's almost like a mini tournament

As some of the more informed pundits - ie me - have been publicly advising the league for ages if they allow the fraudster, the gasmeter thieves and their sleazy sponsors to carry on this circus it will poison the whole season for the rest of us. How you can fail to meet your first months fixtures and not get an immediate points penalty beats the hell out of me.
