As a Fleet fan, I don't agree when we blame a 3G surface. I forgot I wasn't watching it on grass today and I don't see how it gives players any more of an edge at home than the usual home advantages (bobbly pitches, nice pitches, sloping pitches, muddy pitches). Enough players train on it and if you're picking up your points on grass away from home, too, I think it's a poor excuse to blame the surface.
You were the better team today and have been this calendar year. Disappointed with the way we've played for 75% of 2016, but hopefully the other 25% shows up in the play-offs.
Thought your fans were a bit quiet until the last five though. Effectively winning the league today and it was all a bit polite!

Fantastic result all round for Sutton just one sour point being a Sutton follower and that was the reaction of the penalty taker after converting! Having my family from Kent with us to share the occasion, he promptly ran to the opposition fans and made an unwarranted hand gesture to them. Now while I understand his delight in scoring my wife and children with several others found it disgusting. I for one was embarrassed as SUFC supporter that he felt the need to make such a obnoxious gesture even on the heat of battle. Luckily the sign was captured on iPhone by the ebbsfleet supporters and I am sure will be passed to the relevant people for viewing. He did not do credit to the day or the match and in my eyes bought our club into a bad light. If any of the management wishes to see the incident and take retrospective action before the FA do please contact me Spoiled a wonderful and deserved day by his actions

Plastic does give an edge to a team that play on it regularly, I would have said the same had we won today. I understand they will be part of the future of our game. I didn't witness that many tackles today from either side,( I mean proper tackles )it was all physical pushing and shoving, its just my opinion, I feel I am right regarding plastic pitches, obviously others differ, that's fair enough.

Just to point out if you are referring to me, I didn't blame our loss on the 3g surface, I said it gives an edge to teams that use it all the time, and I stand by that. I didn't forget at anytime we were playing on 3g, as old as I am. I do respect your opinion.

Thought that was just as bad. Think it hit one of them aswell, not sure who though. I hope that was caught on the camera or the footage filmed by either sufctv or vanarama and handed to the relevant people as well.

Not a huge fan nowadays of SUFC it has to be said but delighted for so many people at the club re today's result. A little more work to be done et...voila. Sutton, as a club, is not a hotbed or passionate centre re fans but I am delighted for them all today. Many hard yards (and miles) over many years rewarded. Saw SUFC playing in the conference 16 years ago (embarrassing) and I hope (but think) the club is better equipped to do well this time round.

This was a match between two evenly-matched teams, but the one with the better game plan won. Sutton set up with a 4-1-4-1 formation, Nicky Bailey being positioned just in front of the back four to cut off the supply line to Godden and Kedwell. It worked a treat. Ebbsfleet's best outlet was Sean Shields, but, despite showing some good ball skills, he failed to get in the telling crosses that could have delivered Fleet a goal. We started rather nervously, and Fleet certainly had the better of the opening ten minutes, with Ross Worner being kept busier than he would have liked. But once we'd gone ahead we rarely looked back. Terrific run and cross from Tom B for Fitch's close-range opener. Fitch was then brought down for the penalty, just before half-time, converted by Bedse Gomis. The home fan who objected to Bedse's celebration might require some education: that may have been personal, following the assault on Bedse at the end of our game at Stonebridge Road in September which led to him being sent off for retaliation. Try talking to Matt Fish for more context. Sutton were suitably disciplined in the second half, and restricted Fleet to a handful of chances. Fitch should have made it 3-0 but headed over. No matter. We're almost over the line. I'm happy to admit I was wrong earlier in mid-season when I said I didn't think we could do it.

To those that know, I've been gone too long. That said, I've never lost out on what's been going on and it's all credit to those that have provided all the posts and videos that keep the rest of us up to speed on what's happening. A big thank you to you all.
To think we could get back to where we were for our last, all too brief, stint in the top flight is a credit to Dos, the players and all those who volunteer their services to the club each day, week and year for our beloved club.
I've spent many a long hour on a coach or in a car, (thanks Dad, Filbert and Mills) following the boys the last time we were in the top flight of Non-League football. Let's hope we can do it again. At this rate, I can't for the life of me see see why not.
C'mon you Yellows....

It all feels surreal TBH, Dos, Mick and the coaching staff have worked so hard to get us to where we are today.
Here is a snippet of the interview with Dos after the Dover Playoff defeat, a interview that was never published, and from a man who feels a lot better tonight and deservedly so.

That's why i like Dos. He really wants to succeed and please fans.
Maybe that horrible day was a blessing in disguise for us.
The 3G coming in has been great and welcomed more income i'm sure. Squad wise Dos has built something this season that can imo now compete in the National League Lord willing we get the job done.

The title isn't ours just yet, we still have a bit of work to do so let's not get too carried away. However if we do go on to win it we'll have more than deserved it as we have been the best team by far this season. Every team we have played have said we are the best team they have seen this season.
If I was an Ebbsfleet fan I would be livid, I certainly wouldn't have applauded their players yesterday if I was them.
All that money spent and a lead of 14 points and they have gone and cocked it up big time. They thought they had won the league months ago and it has blown up in their face spectacularly. I'd be furious if I was a Fleet fan.
I didn't think they were any better than Maidstone tbh and I certainly wouldn't risk putting any money on them coming through the play offs.
