Haha. The irony of it all. Thanks for the spelling lesson. It is 'you're' not 'your' by the way... Enjoy the playoffs, chump! Wasn't going to post, but had to reply. You are obviously a school child, as you stoop so low with calling people names, absolutely pathetic, I have heard better from my grandson, and he is 5, so your probably not much older than him. Yawn.

I wouldn't say the match wasn't enjoyable at all.
No it wasn't great in terms of action and we have played better football this season but it was enjoyable for the fact we beat the 2nd placed team in the league to pull 3 points clear of them and it was such a big match with so much riding on it.
It was enjoyable for the fact there were so many people there and it was a good atmosphere.
It was enjoyable for the scenes at the end of the match.
Most of all, it was enjoyable to celebrate our teams brilliant achievement in all but securing the title in such a fantastic way.
There was so much riding on the game and so much pressure and they have handled it all in such a professional manner whilst Ebbsfleet completely bottled it.

It was great to see both sets of fans sharing the football experience without intimidation or trouble.

I think Ebbsfleet bottling it is a little harsh - I think they were the 2nd best team after the first 15, and had no plan B in case they went behind, but they do have quite an inexperienced manager at the helm. Us on the other hand, as I've been saying for the last few months, are the most professional side to do a job we've had here under Dos, and busting with experience we should have expected a win, but none of us are so cocksure that we were certain to do it, but what we saw on Saturday was the culmination of 8 months of hard graft and what they players do when most of us are not watching. Obviously Dos must take a lot of credit, but also Micky Stephens, Ian Baird and all those others who coach like Wayne Shaw and Dundo and all.
I've been lucky enough to witness two title winning campaigns (Just missing out on our consecutive titles in the mid 80s), and this one has eclipsed both of them - almost as an aside we actually had decent runs in ALL our cup competitions too. The turn around from November where we were looking at going for the play offs, and turn that into a title winning campaign (fingers crossed) has just been stunning. The gap between games we've had have felt like an eternity, and the shine of this season becomes even brighter when we compare it to last season - if we'd finished 2nd last year and finished first this year it still would have been great, but going from a season where we underperformed and our season was pretty much over in February, and some of those players from last year re-inventing themselves this year into stunningly good players makes where we are today even sweeter.
Regardless of how this season ends, and there's still stories to be written, this season will be one to remember and one which will go down as one of the greatest in the long proud history of the club.

I remember saying a couple of months back, when we were just starting to catch Ebbsfleet up, that the season was starting to remind me of our 1998-99 title winning campaign. It's feeling even more like it now we've beaten the erstwhile league leaders towards the end of the season! It is going to be a much closer thing this season whatever happens, but I'm sure we will all have fond memories of this season that will last a very long time.

It was great to see both sets of fans sharing the football experience without intimidation or trouble. Absolutely agree with this, but some posters get upset when I have said I have seen better teams than Sutton this season. On Ebbsfleets performance, I would have thought you would have seen many teams better than us. You can only say what you see, something I always have, and will continue to do. Football is about opinions, some you agree with, some you don't. I don't watch Sutton every week, and you no doubt play much better than on Saturday, results show that. I only commented on how I saw it Saturday, however it has upset some. Once again well done, you deserved it, we didn't.

Saturday's performance was all about getting the right result against the second-best side in the division. There was never likely to be the free-flowing, attacking football that Sutton fans saw against, say, Margate and St Albans (beaten, respectively, 8-1 and 8-0 on aggregate).
Incidentally, our attendance on Saturday was higher than at ten of the twelve National League matches played on that day. It also beat two attendance figures in League Two. Ebbsfleet's impressive travelling support played their part in that achievement.

Here's another little analogy with 1998/99: In both that season and this we started off with a pretty wretched home defeat (0-1 v Slough back then). What would mirror it completely would be if we were to clinch the title against Chelmsford and then lose the final game at Oxford because, as many of you will no doubt remember, we lost that last league game in '99 to those party-poopers Basingstoke!

And lost our last game in 2011 away at Billericay!

I don't think we will actually. On both of those occasions we went into the last match having already been crowned champions. We therefore had nothing to play for on the last day. This season, if we have the 3 points deducted then even if we win on Saturday we can't "officially" win the league until the last day. Even thought it would in practical terms be impossible for Ebbsfleet to make up the GD. There's still a psychological edge to a team playing a game that could end with them as champions

Plus why ruin a perfectly good unbeaten run on the final day?
