Not long now until our second European jaunt in this season’s Irn-Bru Cup where we face Bohemians of Dublin. Bohemians are nearing the end of their season and narrowly lost on Monday night to Cork City in their FAI Cup replay.
A little like the Airdrieonians tie we’re having to prepare for the unknown again, how strong is the League of Ireland?! A quick look on SkyBet has Bohemians favourites at 7/5 with us at 17/10.
I hope we give this a good go on Saturday and everyone going enjoys themselves!

Don’t concern yourself with what the bookies have to say, what do they know about football..

I suspect the Boho's are slight favourites with the bookies solely on the basis of us being the away side. Other than that, who knows? It will be an impressive achievement to make the Quarter Final, and I've deliberately kept the weekend of 17/18 November free. Gutted I can't make this one, because I love Dublin and all those attending are guaranteed of a great time, irrespective of the final scoreline.

Here’s my line up for Saturday (injured players noted). 4-3-3 RW DB CC AT DW HB CE JT TB JA KC Bohemians 1 SU 2 Not a bad starting 11 that. Given we are short of numbers are we planning to give some of Marvin’s Academy players an opportunity to be on the bench or even start?

Yes but is the result important ? Yes, it is for me! For some of us who don’t drink gin and juice and prefer a brew with a slice of cake - the result is always the most important factor when going to watch football. As the late Bill Shankley once said ‘first is first, second is last’.

These Winding Roads: Sutton United’s European Tour link For many of us it sums up the whole Irn Bru experience.

All the best to everyone travelling to Ireland for the game, hope you all have a great weekend. I’ve still got a couple of days in Sunny Tenerife, so will miss the game. Hope to go the Wealdstone game next week. Not the same, but a games a game!
