As expected Premier clubs vote to continue, north and south have voted null and void.

7 clubs in our division voted not to continue playing. I think Step 2 was always on the cards to void, but I think we may see more play out with the 7 clubs including Dover who voted against. If those 7 clubs vote with their feet then it will all but destroy step 1 anyway??

I would say any more than 2 taking the Dover stance and it would be hard to see it continuing. You’d expect that there will be clubs who didn’t want to continue talking to each other along these lines.
Wonder if more access to grants in the Premier as a result of this too.

Now the resolutions have been passed there's nothing stopping the league taking action against sides that refuse to play.

Even if the 7 who voted 🗳 not to continue playing in NL kick up a fuss - they can’t stop the league from continuing, isn’t this a democracy or do we live in North Cheam sorry Korea...

Now the resolutions have been passed there's nothing stopping the league taking action against sides that refuse to play. but if they are absolutely convinced that playing on will bankrupt them, what are clubs to do? Its irresponsible to play on at all costs. There has to be life beyond this season. Its a tricky one

Its a tricky one The Sports Winter Survival Package allow grants to be offered where clubs can demonstrate that they’ll be unable to repay any loan. Now that the spectre of relegation is no longer hanging over their heads, why don’t Dover apply for a grant, rather than hurling all their toys out of the pram?

Anyone else got a problem with certain clubs in the same competition getting grants while others, not necessarily backed by wealthy owners, struggle on using their own, no doubt dwindling resources?
Of course, there is no guarantee they would be successful with such an application.
If the other six have anything about them they will pool together and follow Dover's example thus wrecking the integrity of the 20/21 NL season.
There is no way the EFL will allow the current promotion/relegation process with the NL to continue if there are only 16 clubs playing in the NL.

And if that happens there is little point in continuing thus rendering the recent vote pointless.
Currently only Dover has decided to test the system it remains to be seen if any others are brave enough to do so but if their very existence is at stake I would expect more to follow

Top 🔝 points Mark (hope you’re well).
That comes straight down the pipe to let’s see how strong the leadership is @the NL.
If the other clubs follow Dover’s example (looking forward to discovering who they are - the bottom 7 perhaps) it will be fascinating to see what the response is from the suits in Birmingham.
EFL 2 - relegation will be a real issue if our league gets cut to 18/20 teams this campaign.

Dover do have an academy side and therefore will have players registered with them to play. Whatever the thoughts on using these players happen to be, in formality it's irrelevant. Dover have registered players they are refusing to use.

I wouldn't say that going down the route of furloughing then using academy or loan players is irrelevant because the integrity of the competition will still be questionable especially to those EFL clubs currently staring at relegation ie Barrow, Southend or Grimsby.
The ploy may allow the competition to continue but would expect EFL clubs to push for no relegation/promotion and if they win, a number of clubs would have spent money for nothing.
The FA need to get a handle on this pronto so that all scenarios are considered and an outcome to each is made clear.
However, that requires a proactive approach which hasn't always been the strong suit of the governing body.

If the NL season does finish, no matter how chaotic, will the efl have any grounds to try and stop relegation?

If the NL season does finish, no matter how chaotic, will the efl have any grounds to try and stop relegation? I imagine they’d be a lot keener to swap Barrow and Stevenage for Notts County and Hartlepool for example than they would Grimsby and Southend for ourselves and Eastleigh. So it could end up as a wait and see situation from their point of view, it could be like the days of re-election. Regardless of what happens we should be mightily proud that this still concerns us
